Q: Is this compatible with the Sennheiser TR 5000 as an additional receiver?

Yes, that's why I bought it. You'll be happy to know, it also comes with its own outlet-powered charger, a small magnetic automatic-snap-on/pull-off attachment. And that's all it does: Unlike the main Flex charger it isn't also a transmitter. But it allows you (or whoever you buy it for) to recharge the receiver unit where you sit, and to keep the unit in that location. (I bought the Sennheiser Flex for my Dad, who's now 98. But because of the spare receiver's dedicated charger, he no longer has to walk all the way over to the cable box & TV cabinet to replace his receiver in the charging bay.—or to take it out of the charger and walk to his chair for the next viewing. And of course the receivers are interchangeable; either can be powered by either charger. And since they both receive the same signal, you can also use the two at once, if another person needs the audio boost, so long as you have a second pair of headphones or earbuds to plug in. (Can be any branded or generic pair so long as they're of sufficient quality to give the listener satisfactory sound and fidelity.)

The Flex 5000 comes with a receiver as part of the package, so if you are purchasing that unit, then it is not necessary to buy the supplemental receiver. However, if you want two receivers like I did, then you would need to buy the supplemental one.
