Fountain OK - but not if you have foxes.
The fountain was fine - in fact it's the second we have bought. Unfortunately, in both cases, our resident fox and her puppies found the foam float irresistible as a chewy toy and in both cases demolished the whole thing. It took a couple of years last time, but this time it was only a couple of months before they discovered it. I guess the matriarch has learnt.

Solar
Takes time for solar to work and only seems to work when sun is on the panel if it goes shady it slows down at the moment. Otherwise it’s powerful. It’s cheaper from Amazon by £5 than from our local garden centre.

it does work
After reading other reviews i thought i would take a chance on this product. It was bought as a temporary solution for a pond measuring approx 6'x 6'(Mains power issues with existing pump). This is being used in the north east of England, so not what could be described as a sun hot spot. This is solar power in England,do not expect any great flowing fountain. It does work when the sun shines and fades when clouds block the light. But it has made an impact on the pond improving the water. Not bad considering the poor weather we have had this year.Contrary to the picture displayed the water has not reached any great height, probably no more than 4 inches, but again its been enough to work on our pond in a poor summer. The solar panel comes with a good cable length which makes it possible to raise the panel out of the shadow of surrounding plants and shrubs (requires the use of a "Hi Tech" garden cane). So from my experience "so far" if you want a pump for a small not to serious (no expensive fish)sort of garden pond without the trouble of putting cables into the garden for power this should do the job.

Excellent but Limited
I think some people have perhaps, expected too much from a small and purely decorative feature. Easy to assemble, cheap, comes with four spray nozzles for different effects.Yes, it works ONLY in full sun, no battery, and descends to a tiny spurt in partial sun, and you DO occasionally have turn the solar panel round to face the sun in order to get max strength of fountain. We have placed it in a very small pond, where it is perfect and you can hear the trickle of water from, at least, the balcony upstairs. I would not recommend it for a larger pond as it would be rather lost, I think. In full sun it is charming, the spray reaches the height it is supposed to and it is much like a sundial, in that it only works when the sun is out. We did not expect anything more, so were not disappointed. We get a lot of sun here, so in summer it usually displays itself well for 8 - 10 hours. However, we think for our slightly larger pond we will get one with a battery, and something a little more powerful.

Only works in full sunlight
Reasonable price but it only works in full direct sunlight.

small but effective
This pump is surprisingly effective for such a small pack. It starts even when there is a low level of sunlight. The illustration gives a clear idea of the height of the spray. We have another more expensive solar fountain but we are pleased with this cheerful little pump. It would be pleasant by itself for just a small pond. We have found that it works best in floating mode because the water it sucks in tends to be clearer than if it was secured by its suckers to a shelf in the pond. The sponge filter is very small so if your pond water has a lot of algae it will get clogged up quickly. However it is easy to clean and it has not needed cleaning in the last two months.

Does what it says on the tin
Does what it says on the tin. Small fountain super easy to assemble - 2 minutes (needs clean water) and sends up a 10cm jet in direct sunlight, nothing when a cloud comes over. Lets just hope for a sunny summer. If you want a breathtaking fountain buy something more expensive but for a trough or small water feature with no access to power supply this is ideal. I suspect I'll have to follow the sun around by re-positioning the stake on the solar cell - a ball and socket joint on this part would have been useful. I like the selection of nozzles. The floating pad could be better disguised - any ideas?

Works as described on the box!
Comes with two spray nozzles and two means of securing one floating and one direct up from the pump. The solar power collector also has a spike to fix it into the ground. As has been said before the unit only works with direct sunlight onto the generator...no sun no spray! but when it is working the spray comes out up to 6 inches depending on which head you use. Works fine for what I wanted.... to circulate the water in my wildlife pond!
