Buy 'Grand Duel', not this!
The quality of this earlier print, sold as Storm Rider, is terrible; think VHS quality! After watching it (and loving the film) I bought the Blue Underground version packaged as Grand Duel- it's NTSC but it's actually region free so plays fine in the UK. It's available now on Amazon for roughly the same price.Of the film, once you've bought the right version, it's not only one of Lee Van Cleef's best but one of the best spaghetti westerns. You can read the plot in other reviews, the story is great, LVC is on top form but for me the villians made it- the Saxons are really creepy and theatrical and elevate the picture above its low budget tropes. Their theatricality also puts emphasis on visuals which helps with the poor dubbing that comes as standard with the genre.

Bad quality DVD from Pegasus Entertainment. Don't waste money.
This is a horrible VHS copy that has been transferred to DVD. To add salt to the injury the non-anamorphic 2.35:1 ratio has been achieved by cropping the top and bottom of an already vertically butchered transfer. This results in lots of chopped head shots, Colours are washed out and the picture is far from crisp, Of course there are no subtitles. There is a better release in the US titled "The Grand Duel" which is in fact closer too the films original title "Il grande duello". Would give it 0 stars if I could. I feel robbed.

Low budget but with Lee van Cleef
Enjoyable but fairly feeble spaghetti western. Lee van Cleef is the best thing about it.

Superb film with beautiful music. Film quality is reflected in it's age but you won't find many better Western movies with Lee Van Cleef. The man is a legend.

Not happy
Not the film generally associated with Lee Van Cleef, struggled to watch it all the way.

Mr Nasty
Lee Van Cleef is one of my friend's favourite Mr Nastys and he was thrilled with the DVD. They don't make cowboys like this anymore - it really is the Wild, Wild West.
