Hex: Season 1

Really liked Christina Cole in Suits so I gave this a shot. Christina is always great even in the shows they cancel like Hex. Recommend.

This is a fantastic supernatural series! The back cover quotes this series as "beautiful, dark, and intelligent". I couldn't have said it better myself. Many people are comparing it to Buffy, but it really is so much more. The characters are rich and layered. The writing is believable. The casting director was spot on in his choice of actors for the roles. Azazeal is sexy and endearing, but you always know he's evil through and through, while Cassy is sweet and sassy, with a strength of character that any good heroine must have. Thelma is a treasure to get to know and love. The fact that she's a lesbian and madly longing for romance with her best friend Cassy is secondary to how much she actually proves the depth of true love as the series grows. I must say that I hate the way the first season ends- with so much left up in the air and dangling. Thank God they made a second season. It seems they canceled the series at the end of season 2. Too bad that we have fallen in love with these characters only to have to say goodbye to them. It seems the pattern of most great shows on television these days. I still can't get past the cancelations of Carnivale and Rome!

I was so happy to finally find Hex....I’ve been looking for years but only Season One so far....hopefully Season 2 will become available in NTSC format one day...I give it 5 stars for the video quality is excellent however I had a hard time getting any of my DVD players to play it....the last episode I had to watch on my computer... but I cleaned the dvds with alcohol and that seemed to help....anyway I watched the entire series all at once and wish they hadn’t cancelled it...they always cancel the good ones

I loved this show when it was on TV, and always wanted to see it again. I was happy to see it was available on DVD. The seller wrapped it up really well so it didn't get damaged. I wish Season 2 was available, but it's only in European format,

Complete garbage product. All the discs were scratched and caused numerous playback issues.

I found this series on BBC America last year and was thoroughly surprised by how much I liked it. It is a great mixture of religion, myth and legend all blended together in this Good vs. Evil, Angels vs. Demons drama.The story is wonderfual as the writers are able to keep us cheering for the good guys, while at times making us feel sorry for the darker characters. It defines good and evil as blurred concepts, who sometimes use the same measures to reach their ends.The casting of the characters is great. Sometimes a great story is weakened by poor acting, that is not the case in Hex. Each character is very believable and well portrayed by the actors and actresses.Overall, I would highly recommend the first season of this series as a great addtition to any collection.

Something is wrong with the 1st two discs. On a replacement order, same issue. Replacement is better but still looks used and damaged… like left out in sun or in a car. First set wouldn’t play, but I was able to get the replacements to play through. If you don’t have time to watch all of the episodes in 30 days, I highly recommend having them play in another room that you keep checking, as I did.

I was watching late night television one night.... when the sci fi channel was playing this series I had never seen before. In truth I will admit I am a closet Buffy and Angel fan...and found myself missing them after both series had ended.....so the title more than intrigued me. But they are not to be confused, "Hex" is so much better. I watched two episodes and was hooked....So I ordered season one to catch up. I had no idea this series was even on---a note to the BBC I wish I had known sooner. I was more than delighted to find that Azazeal was being played by none other than that sexy German import himself Michael Fassbender---some of you might know him best from the movie "300" he played "Stelios"...girls can we say abs of steel and more than a little delicious!...and in this.. his character cuts a dark and seductive swath through the entire production. But there is alot for the men too....From the lip lucious Jemima Rooper who plays "thelma" the lesbian ghost-who has her way with many a student at Medenham hall to Christina Cole who plays "Cassie" the perfect combination of innocence and sin....but we only get a taste of "Ella" the trench cloaked clad immortal played by Laura Piper who we learn more about in season two. All in all I give season one a two thumbs up...the packaging is great as well as alot of user friendly options available on the dvd's. There is but one caution I leave you with, to some they will be happy not to become entangled in a long series.... but for those of us who just found out about its existence it is dissapointing to learn that "Hex" only has two seasons.....so enjoy it while you can as "the countdown begins to the end of days".....

items in great condition, rapidly delivered. HEX is as good as I remembered, great for anyone into the paranormal and mystery.

Very unique and really eye-catching series. Brillant actors, especially (still very young) Michael Fassbender and absolutely stunning Jemima Rooper (did not know her at all before). Top, top, top. Too bad the series ended after season 2.

ayant vu quelques épisodes à la TV (car suivre une série à aujourd'hui relève de l'impossible), j'attendais de le trouver en DVD en français pour voir l'intégrale avec mon homme.dommage pour lui, je n'ai eu que la VO. mais moi, je me suis régalée. dommage que cette série n'est pas pris en france... la TV n'aide pas le lancement des séries autres que policières...pourtant celle-ci est beaucoup plus envoutante que n'importe quel xième épisode des séries à la mode...

Hi there! I'm so happy to have listened to the advice of others buying Hex 1 & 2, because they were absolutely amazing! Besides all, I've also watched "Buffy the vampire slayer" in the prevoius years, but I don't agree with the general feeling of this has to be a masterpiece of television: first of all, because it isn't scary at all for me,the monsters are ridiculous, the story lacks in a lot of passages too and it isn't an original idea, plus where all the suspance was gone?!..It even looked like a Scooby-Doo film in some points..And ok, as good as could have been the main actress,or handsome the male actor of Angel,the spin off too, isn't at the top of my favourite list (for example, in the past, there was "American Gothic" that in my opinion was better, at least more scary)...However this english show instead is "da bomb"! And it is even better for the fairy and scary environment, for the thrilling original plot, for the hot never gross sex (thre's even a nice subplot about homosexual love: that is a good way to spread tolerance too, I think),but far away different from the usual american style we are all used to; and last but not least, for the good looking and perfect cast (wow that gorgeous blue-eyes fallen angel...I'm still dreaming of him! ;-P)So, don't think twice, it isn't even true that it lacks in pace,you will be totally instant "HEXed",in this modern horror fairy tale...so just go for it and enjoy yourself!;-P) Bye bye xoxo
