Ultraviolet [DVD]

Like a DVD I bought the same time, this was bought to complete a collection. Needed a through clean before she would play without freezing - it was sold as new - so paid the fill price of £2.99 with free delivery - Can`t complain at that really.. Once cleaned I could enjoy the now dated, but then, CGI and basic storyline. In this case I took off 1 star because - let`s face it - with this cast it should have been much better. But hey! For me still enjoyable - definitely a popcorn and soda film.

This movie is just pure entertainment and from start to finish, its a vampire movie with a sci-fi twist, a hint of blade and the matrix and resident evil in one, in the future vampires are being wiped out and a small group of them are living underground and fighting back at the organisation who want them extinct, Violet (Milla Jovovich) is one of the vampire top assassins she must protect a child who maybe a cure for her disease, the movie from beginning to end is choc full of fantastic visual effects that look very comic book like, the costumes worn by Milla look very cool and very sexy, Milla looks stunning in every shot and was born to be in this movie, she alone makes it worth while watching, the weapons and gadgets are all cool too, this movie is pure popcorn fun all the way, action and fighting and shootouts and more fighting!! Ultraviolet is a weird film but weird in a good way. The plot consists of a group of vampire-like people called hemophages are endangered from becoming extinct due to humans but they might be able to live if they kill a child named Six (Cameron Bright).A hemophage named Violet (Milla Jovovich) is sent to retrive the case that Six is in but due to her motherly instincts, runs away with Six and the film consists of fights between Violet, humans and hemophages.The story is confusing but the film is still entertaining and if you like lots of action, then Ultraviolet is a good film choice.

A bit of a Marmite film, I loved it like I also love Marmite, a very enjoyable film, lots of action and was very good on blu ray format ,

I cannot believe the number of really bad reviews for this movie. There are some great special effects in this movie, and some lovely SciFi touches. Milla is gorgeous in the movie, the actions scenes are well thought out and implemented. Seriously what is there not to like. All i can really think of is that there is a seriously large anti SciFi thing going on among the nay sayers, but really if you dont like Sci Fi why buy this movie in the first place?So my advise is if you like Milla, Sci-Fi, Martial arts, or special effects then give this movie a chance, and ignore the flat Earthers and their reviews.

Doesn't make much sense, but there are some pretty creative and cool action and fight scenes to watch, so not a total waste.

Dear Sony Pictures Home Ent.UK,Am sorry to said that this DVD would play for me as it was not working so I did not get to see it but I do no it's a good movie but as it did not work I had to send it back to Amazon and I will re get a new one of it from Amazon and enjoy it when I do. I enjoyed this film, it's better than I expected after reading some reviews and has a very graphic novel feel the way it is shot and coloured. A lot of fight action from Milla Jovovich which fills out a relatively undemanding plot, one or two daft moments but it delivers and is quite watchable.
