Creative Fun
Oh, these are fun! Tiny dots of coloured lights on a copper wire, and they can be used in so many creative ways. The pack contains two strings. I wound the first of them around three tall narrow glass vases, then I flicked the switch on. So pretty! When I first saw the bare wire, all the dire warnings from science class flashed through my mind. Bare electric wire? I was almost scared to even try. But obviously they didn't teach us everything in primary school science class, because no disaster occurred. :-)I can see many imaginative ways for using these fairy light wires creatively. I'll probably use my second one for the Christmas tree when I set it up.Tips for usage:1.Place the battery near where you want the decoration. Then drape the wire where you want it, starting from the battery end, keeping the wire roll roped around your hand. If you don't do this, it's easy get the wire tangled. (Thats' what happened at my first attempt.) .2. Have some thin strips of sticky tape ready. Every so often, fasten the wire with the sticky tape to the object. Otherwise it won't stay in place.I received this product free for testing. The review reflects my honest opinion and experience.

Five Stars
love these lights, though the battery runs down quite quickly, though they still look lovely on reduced battery power

Two sets. Very pretty
I'm very pleased with these lights. They are very pretty indeed. These are tiny little bulbs on a copper wire with a little battery pack at one end. You get two sets of lights. The wires are very flexible and are easily wound around anything whether it's a Christmas tree or winding around a metal bed head. The lights are tiny almost the size of a teardrop, however, when it is switched on the lights are REALLY bright and you cannot believe such a lot of light can come out of such a tiny bulb!! When used at night and they are switched on you can only see the bulbs and not the copper wire.I've placed one of the sets on my brass bed head, interwoven across the back and this provides beautiful romantic soft lighting.Because you get two in a pack I think this represents outstanding value.I wanted to use fairy lights in my children's rooms before but never could because I didn't want them having electrical items within easy reach. As this is controlled by two AA batteries this is a safe version for children's rooms.Do remember that this is a wire string of lights so normal safety procedures should be observed and do not leave anything that can become tangled around the child within reach.Overall I think these lights are very pretty indeed. I thought that being battery powered they would not be as bright as my electrical fairy lights, but these are just as good.I've only had these a few days and the lights are on for approximately one hour a day,. So I'm not yet able to tell you how long the batteries will last. However AA batteries can be picked up in the pound shop pack of 6, so I'm definitely not going to worry about I these running out. These are ideal for Christmas, and will enable you to use these on the dining table with no need for electrical cables, or inside glass flower vases to make a beautiful display (no water, obviously!).These two sets of lights were sent to me at a discount for my honest review.Footnote: I've removed a star because they broke too easily (wire broke). The good news is the light still work from the battery to the break.Price has also gone up so I dont feel it deserved the tag 'good value' any more at £20 I think you'd be better off with a plug version. IN my opinion worth around £15 for both.

Brightening up these darker evenings
Sample received for reviewIn the small cardboard box are two sets of these magical lights, each one attached to a clear plastic battery box that requires 2 AA batteries. I have found them to last quite a long time in this kind of lighting and as they will probably be mostly used around the coming season that's fine with me. I don't like to have too many plug in items with transformers (that can get hot) so little battery run lights are a great idea. The twisty wire takes some care, I got in a bit of a tangle putting it up with some prisms I had hung to reflect the little lights... While playing music by Eels...Blinking lights...Once alight in the darker rooms of winter evenings the brass wire seems to fade and disappear, only the sweetly warm sparkling lights glow out. These sets bring out the designer in me, winding them around glass vases, models, table settings, picture frames, mirrors, natural berried branches, curtain rails, the kitchen dresser, and painted twigs is as easy as can be. The length of the wires is a foot of plastic covered wire from the box, then 6m or so of wire along which the tiny pods of light are spaced about four inches apart. it all feels ethereal, flimsy but the effect is impressive and being multicoloured, truly decorative. They feel safe as what harm could do two AA batteries do? Of course the wire would be dangerous to little children if they get wound up in it so these are not toys. Well maybe - for grown ups!
