I have a pet hate of small petrol engines as my past experience show they are more susceptible to early failure. For this reason I selected this mower as it jas a reasonaly sized engine It comes semi knock down requiring the handle to be fitted.Remove the cable tie on the handle to release the dead man and drive levers before fitting the handle as these are under tension when fitting.Check the direction of the bolt assemblies by reviewing the photos. No oil in the engine so fill to max on the dipstick. The dips tick supplied was not as shown and only the last 10mm is supposed to be covered. I would have expected it to be at least 25-35 mm as it leaves very allowance for error when filling.Height adjustment is easy and positive. The 10 inch rear and 6 inch front wheels. Make moving a breeze.Lift the cover plate at the rear to fit the collection bag and remember to remove the plastic deflection cover located in the mower discharge chute. The mower has a steel frame but most components are plastic . Some deformation to the grass collection bag which has a plastic base and to the bag securing clips due to transit and packing. These needed warming to return to their approximate shape prior to assembly.Once assembled, fuelled and primed started on the second pull. Releasing the dead man lever it cut out and restarted first pull with little effort. Adjusted the height of cut and set off. As it is self propelled mowing is an easy walk. All things considered I'm pleased with the performance for the price.

Review for 21-inch model
I ordered the Frisky Fox 20” QUAD-CUT but they were out of stock so I was sent the larger Frisky Fox 530 QUAD-CUT 21” model at no extra cost and minus the shipping charge by way of apology (quite some saving). I’m very happy with it but be aware this review is for the Frisky Fox 530 QUAD-CUT. I assume that it is very similar to the 20” model except for the bigger size. It’s a beast. It pulls well up hill and boy does it suck! It will happily suck up twigs etc and has more suction than any more I’ve ever used to date. The Quad cut is good and it gets much closer to my wall than any other mower I’ve had (i.e. you can mow to within less than an inch of a solid object like a wall due to how the wheels are set. It takes a full litre of petrol so mows a lot of grass before it requires refuelling. The only negatives I’ve found so far are that you cannot tell when the grass box is full. This is fine but due to the suction when you open the box to look with the mower running it blows grass 6 ft in the air and covers you! It’s also a heavy mower and needs a good pull and the throttle on low (not halfway as they recommend) to start. I’m not so sure that my 7-stone wife will be able to use the Frisky Fox 530 QUAD-CUT with ease (not that this will bother her as the garden is my job!) as its very heavy and takes a good pull to start it. My 14-year old son had no problem with it though.Be aware that you need 600 ml of oil before you can use it. This is NOT shipped with the mower. They recommend FUCHS semi synthetic 10W-40 for the Frisky Fox 530 QUAD-CUT. I advise that you check you have something suitable before it arrives if you want to use it quickly.

Sub standard machine - sub standard customer service.
Promises so much - delivers little. I first got the mover at the end of a season - unfortunately my old one finally gave up with one or two cuts left in the season. At first it seemed like a good mower. After it had been in the shed all winter (I did start it a couple of times to keep it exercised) it did not start in the spring. After some considerable effort it finally started. However - once started it only runs at full pelt. In fact you really wondered if the thing was about to explode. I contacted customer services and all they stated was to send it back drained of petrol and oil in its original packing. I pointed out that I no longer had the original box - it was after all several months since purchasing. This did not deter customer services.Because it runs at full pelt the thing is shaking itself to bits. already a metal connector has fallen off the bottom (holds the handle in place) - never to be seen again. Bottom line is - its rubbish. Maybe its just mine that's rubbish, not being the owner of every body else's I cant say. The customer service is poor.I cant be without a mower for several weeks during grass cutting season. If they offered a refund I'd go and buy an alternative - but they don't, so I have 2 options. But another anyway or wait an undefined period of time for a repair and return (not to mention the grief of getting it packed up).Bottom line - I was tempted by the price and promise - but the machine and the company failed to live up to expectations. I shall run the thing into the ground (which by current expectations - wont be long) and then purchase an alternative.Update: The thing has finally rattled itself to death (literally rattled - just about all major components have fallen to bits) - little after 18 months after buying, and in reality only 1 season of grass cutting. I can't tell you how disappointed I am with this thing - it is utter rubbish. Buy it if you want - but on your own head be it. Don't get me started on the customer service - it is very very poor..
