We were ruining our kitchen knives and risking fingers until we came across this set. It works well, and has all the accessories you might need to open a coconut. If you also buy for yourself some reuseable straws and straw brushes, then you're all set.

I was very disappointed, I’m not sure if mine was bad or what but both of them cracked before this tool opened it. The peeler worked nice but it’s way to expensive for just a peeler.

First thing is BE CAREFUL because the head blade is very sharp and I cut myself while washing it. That being said, it's sharp enough to pierce through the hard exterior of a coconut. I use the mallet/hammer to give it a few knocks until it cracks, then shimmy it a bit and give it a few more whacks until a perfect round circle pops out. The little scraping tool is great for scooping out the coconut meat. All of the tools work as intended and I plan on using these all summer long for fresh coconut juice and meat.

The kit works. It wasn’t too hard to use. My old coconut happened to have a thicker outer wall, which was a great test. I kept hammering and shifted the position of the cutting tool to cover the whole circle, and it worked. Took out a perfectly round cap, and easy access to the juice and meat. The spoon straw also worked well.
