The new perspective on fitness
I'm not much of an athlete, therefore I have always favored Pilates and basic aerobics, but also usually lack motivation. I'm happy to have recently discovered Lastics and the importance of proper muscle stretching, which is supposed to make up a whopping 1/3 of our exercise (along with cardio and strength training.) Lastics was developed from muscle stretching techniques practiced by dancers and is meant to improve your flexibility and overall well-being.The DVD and book combo is the way to go: Learn the Lastics workout, thoroughly taught by creator Donna Flagg, who demonstrates stretching from the inside and how to flex the body in the natural course that it's meant to follow. The companion book explains the techniques you should know and tips on proper position & form while stretching. Everything you were taught in gym class about stretching is wrong. Correct stretching of muscles not only improves flexibility but can actually dissipate a stiff neck or back if your problem is caused by tension. We live in a society where people are accustomed to take a pill for everything, but don't treat the problem at its source. It would make a lot more sense to stretch our muscles rather than fall down the rabbit hole of painkillers, wouldn't it? I believe this is an essential resource to have and more people need to know about Lastics! Most people, as long as they have no conflicting injuries, can benefit from stretching.I'm only in my first week of Lastics, I'm still a little sore and have limited flexibility, but I am already noticing a difference. I haven't woken up with the pain of a stiff neck or back--something that had been giving me trouble for a long time. I've had issues with the muscles between my neck and shoulders, and those have calmed down already. My legs are still a little tight but I can feel a difference as well. I haven't had any foot cramps like I usually have. My posture has improved. I'm very impressed. The workout itself is very intense and I've had to break it down, do half or what my body allows, and I'll work my way up. Lastics is extremely effective, and officially one of my favorites. The book has a section to track your progress over 10 weeks, so when I complete that I'll update this review. Thanks Donna!

I’ve learned so much from this program, and how incorrectly I was stretching.
My sister introduced me to Lastics Stretch. She had a goal of running her first half marathon, but was experiencing a great deal of pain from several issues, including Plantar Fasciitis. She completed her first half marathon, finishing very strong.I ordered the DVD and book, and completed the same half marathon 17-minutes faster than my time last year (my sister still smoked me). I have a pretty significant case of IT Band Syndrome, and thought I would not be able to finish the race, and to finish faster than last year was unexpected and exciting.My sister and I are in our fifties, so our accomplishments are a big deal for non-athletic, non-runners. From my experience, stretching is critical to any kind of physical test, such as running. I think in general, it’s a neglected part of training.I’ve learned so much from this program, and how incorrectly I was stretching. Lastics has been a gem of a find for me, and it gives me hope that it’s possible to age, and still maintain flexibility.I also want to say that the responsiveness to excellent customer service with this company gets an A+.

I highly recommend this program
I purchased this video because I was training for a half marathon and was experiencing severe foot pain. I thought maybe adding this stretch session into my training might help ease the pain. Lastics for the win! I highly recommend this program! Donna is very easy to follow, she guides you through the routine with clear instructions and it is definitely challenging. My foot pain is HIGHLY improved, and I was able to successfully run/walk the half marathon with very little pain. As a matter of fact, I was staying at a AirBnB out of town for the 13.1 and brought along my video so that I could stretch the night before the race. I was disappointed to find out that the home I was staying in didn't have a DVD player. I love this program so much that I actually went on to iTunes and REPURCHASED Lastics so that I could use it on my iPad! Totally worth it!

You'll never go back to how you used to stretch
If you're on the fence get it! I've been having trouble with my shoulder for a couple months now. No matter what stretches I tried, they did nothing to improve it, but it already feels almost back to normal after just one workout!She has a unique method of active stretching that you can already tell is working even while you are doing it. My whole body felt so relaxed after doing this routine.Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

I LOVE this video it doesn't try to be all Euro by using goofy props, women dressed in slutty Lingerie/Loungerie all Tramped up and Pole Ready !! I have spent way too much $$$ on videos with people trying to be cool wearing all the latest workout attire, getting way too technical with anatomy/kinesiology, and pronouncing words all cool with the most elitist pronunciations in a condescending manner. This video will teach you the correct way, and explain why that is the correct way. Remember stretching keeps you off your BUMM = Euro for BUT...I need to get off mine lol.

I watched in on my laptop and there was no easy way to skip sections or just work on certain ...
While the DVD is informative, it is about an hour long and it just seems very long. I watched in on my laptop and there was no easy way to skip sections or just work on certain body parts at a time so unless you can do that if you use an actual DVD player, you'd have to go through the whole thing or fast forward.

great stretches!
These are the best stretches that I have found, not only for the lower back but the entire body as well. I have tried many different approaches, read many different books on stretching, taken a variety of yoga classes, etc, but none compare. You should try this whether you are notably inflexible like me or very flexible!
