I was amazing how well this thing works. I made a chicken and veggie stir fry and it was very moist and delicious. It was done within an hour on an average day. Free cooking is a must if you're off grid. I'll have to eventually invest in a large one and see if it's just as good.

The media could not be loaded. I ordered this on 13 Sep, and opened and used today on Friday, 20 Sep. I live in south-central Texas. Today's weathaer was blue skies with intermittent billowy clouds.First, out of the box it was easy set-up. Directions and packaging very good.Purchased round steak, carrots, sweet potatos, green beans and brocolli. Cut roast to 2-3" long x 1.5 -2" wide x 1/4+" thick. Marinated meet. Put in tube, set out on front walkway with a upward angle appropriate for mid-day sun. 20-35 minutes (due to learning curve) and I had delicious food. It was hot! Tasty (added pre-cook salt on meat) and the vegetables perfect. Not soggy. I will be trying this during the winter months as the sun shines and ambient temps do not impact cooking (I am sure it doesn't hurt though). I am cooking another (4th meal of the day) for my daughter at dinner time so had to adjust angle of cooker per directions in booklet. Clean up is pretty basic. Lots of experimenting is possible, but probably a bit more flexibility to experiment in the larger models.I am considering a larger model. Like cooking with it as it gets hot in the summers here and if I can avoid heating the oven in the house in the summer months, I will.Love this.

It works

Not too thrilled. This item was not well made. The silicone that held the end cap on fell off. I have yet to be able to cook anything with it. I suspect it only works when the temperatures are above 70°. Seems like the parabolic reflectors are not parabolic they were bent. The price was cheap and so was the quality probably should’ve returned it, but I’m waiting for warmer days.

this is tiny, I don't even think you could barely cook one hot dog in it. And this kit is not rated for boiling water. Also it's a glass tube and it comes with nothing to keep it safe in the pack that comes with to pack it in is flimsy and so break really easy.

"GOSUN Portable Solar Oven Kit for 1-2 Meals" They say this thing for one or two meals maybe for isle of Lilliput. at the very maximum its snack size for full size humans. I was thinking about using a pork tenderloin for this thing but I think I'm going to have to cut it in half then split it down the middle. if you eat hot dogs you can put two hot dogs in it. maybe three or four chicken wing halves. the cooking tray is 10 3/8" by 11/2" like I said snack size. that being said I love this darn little thing!!!

So I underestimated this, instructions say cook meat for around 40 minutes i believe, i left frozen fried popcorn chicken in this for over an hour and this cooked the hell out of my chicken burnt it black smoking toasty black looking like charcoal, That solar power sunlight is something serious!!!! However the plastic part on the side of the tube melted off, This thing can seriously cook the hell out of your foods in a matter of minutes, it is difficult to clean and wash if you burn something in it. Still love it just don't burn anything in it.

I've been camping since I was a child and used every kind of stove, gas, propane, diesel, wood, alcohol and this little gem plus good 9am - 4pm sunshine will bake a potato cut in wedges, two chicken thighs or steak in strips in less than an hour. Get more if you have more guests. It's dirt cheap.
