A true Gem for understanding CT Head!
I would like to commend the author firstly for what I ve found to be a truly exceptional piece of work!As a junior Radiology trainee, soon to start on calls, the CT brain is an investigation that I shall have to review most likely every time I m on shift. Having gone through several texts, I was looking for one which would allow me to not only see and therefore, hopefully, recall key imaging findings but also understand why those particular pictures are seen. This book answered all those questions!I m particularly impressed by the manner in which the author utilises mnemonics/aide memoires for each of the key pathology areas in a CT head i.e. strokes, bleeders, hydrocephalus, etc..In a nutshell, the format of the book is ideal in that it is short enough to read in a few sittings, depending upon how fast you read, but also allows one to recall key facts due to the format mentioned above. All in all, a superb publication! Must-have is a word I reserve for only select titles but in this case, there are no doubts in my mind!In conclusion, if you are one of the following, you must purchase this:- Radiology trainee- Neurosurgery/Neurology trainee- Emergency medicine trainee- General surgical/General medical trainee rotating in A+E, Neurosurgery, etc..- GP trainees rotating in the acute specialities- Radiographers/ENPs working in the acute setting

An introduction, but no good for clinical practice
Not actually useful in Clinical Practice. Although it gives basic information about brain anatomy and structures it doesn't give a structured approach for reviewing the CT brain or ways to avoid missing pathology/review areas. Basically it will teach you how to describe obvious, large findings in anatomical terms but you will be actually no better at systematically interrogating the images. I returned the book for a refund.
