I got this extension cable to connect my solar panel to help charge my portable battery. The cable that plugs into my portable battery power unit wasn't long enough to leave the portable battery under the cover of my porch and reach all the way out to my solar panels in the sun. I didn't want to leave the portable battery unprotected and unattended in case it started to rain. So this product did exactly what I needed, allowing me to still use the connector on the solar panel, but connect back to the portable battery. The connections go together tightly, so I'm not concerned about rain when using this product. The handy attached end covers keep junk off the connectors in storage or transit, so they shouldn't be prone to corrosion or weathering. Recommended.

Thick gauge bonded wire in a decent length. I have several battery tenders that all have SAE connectors, so I can keep the tender in the garage and maintain the batteries with this extension cable. It included a polarity reversing adapter which comes in useful when connecting my solar generator to one oddball portable panel that has SAE connector but is reversed for some reason. Good length so I can keep the panel outside where there's sun and move the generator inside the truck. Docked a star because a similar (although smaller gauge) cable is same price but 10 feet longer. Good for small solar installations, particularly portable ones, and battery tenders. I would recommend, but shop to see if there's a lower cost option.

Used this to have a longer cable to hook up my battery tender to my bike. Worked great for that! Not much to say about it - it's strong cable, connections are solid, comes with a polarity reverser and some caps to keep dust/dirt/corrosion out of the plugs. Good value for the money.

I am of the opinion you can not have enough different length SAE extensions. I stopped using the all black ones and only use color coded ones to help check polarity. In this case I needed to charge a dead vehicle battery in a sun challenged location from a solar panel 50 feet away. Mating this 15 footer with a 25 footer and the panel's 10 foot lead was just enough. Good to have in your collection.

With this 15’, 16AWG-2pin SAE extension cable, I can operate the macerator, which connects to the battery at the front of the camper, while standing at the black tank sewer valve at the back end of the camper. This is something that I was unable to do previously because the cord on the macerator was too short. This extension cable is exactly as described and has protective caps for the connectors. It has copper-stranded conductors sheathed with durable insulation and heavy-duty connectors. It also comes with a reverse adapter to adapt to connectors that are wired opposite of the extension cable.Conclusion: This item has exceeded my expectations, which is my requirement for a five-star review.
