A&A Manufacturing 540277 6-Port Low Pro Parts Kit

If I would have called the pool company to install this part it would have cost me over $500. Buying it direct on Amazon and installing it myself saved me a ton of money. You do not have to be a weekend warrior to install this part. It took me less than 15 minutes to swap it out and have everything back together and the pool running. No experience necessary. If you are looking to save money I highly recommend!

This is the 6-port low profile gear assembly replacement for system with the t-valves. If you have the older ball valves A&A manufacturing recommends you get their upgrade kit which includes this assembly and the t-valves.I usually do my own pool maintenance and repairs and the gears in this assembly are designed to wear out and I'd rather they wear out instead of the housing. There are four main wear points that should be checked before deciding to get the full assembly here or order individual gears. The first is the impeller gear. Just pull it out and look at the teeth for wear. The second is the two outside gears. Simply inspect the teeth on the outside gears for wear. However, if you see wear on either of the two outside gears you most likely will have excessive wear on the teeth on the bottom side of the two gears that are just one in from the outside. If these show excessive wear you can sometimes just swap the gears around so that the worn out teeth aren't being used or closer to the center where the gears are less stressed. If that isn't an option you can still just buy these gears separately from A&A. The last piece to check is the part on the underside that lifts the valves. When you look at it you should see a groove that's been worn into the plastic from lifting the valves. If this part is to heavily worn then you'll need to purchase the entire assembly as I haven't been able to find it sold as a separate part.Reassembly is pretty easy. Just get the shims in place, don't forget the one that goes on top of the assembly. Place in the rod, insert the assembly and then use a screw driver to hold up one of the t-valves and rotate the assembly until the lifter on the bottom of the assembly is beneath the valves.

So my pool jets haven't been cycling through the different jets for months. Like any good pool owner I figured this would fix itself if I just left it alone to ponder its existence in the universe and decide for itself if it wanted to be a lazy no account pool jet or a hard working member of the pool jet society. It decided it enjoyed doing nothing and sleeping in all day so I finally had to take action myself. I read the reviews and took note of many peoples problem with one component or another not working with their system and having to Frankenstein something together, and I was also aware that there were a couple different model numbers for sale and no way to tell which one fit mine. Well, this one fit. Perfectly. No mixing and matching any of my old parts to make this work. Maybe I got lucky and just ordered the correct model, but whatever happened, it was all put in place and back together in under 15 minutes and 12 hours later my jets are still cycling without a problem. Perfect. Note I saved $65+ not buying from a pool supply store. One famous pool supply store wants $154 for the part. Plus I avoided installation fee's by doing it myself. It was a simple procedure. I've been venturing into a lot of pool maintenance this year on my own to save money and none of it has proven that challenging. I've replaced a cracked manifold in my large pool filter, replaced my cartridges and replaced a dead capacitor in my pump. Replacing this part was the easiest of them all.

The kit installed perfectly and took only ten minutes from start to finish. The manufacturer of this product has a YouTube video that you can search and watch before you start. Watching the video was extremely helpful and made the replacement of the kit a breeze. If you work on your pool regularly, this is an easy job. I highly recommend replacing the band clamp at the same time as installing the kit.

This product is a easy replacement for the stripped gear system I had. The old one comes out in one piece and the new drops in place following the easy instructions provided. Works well and no issues as of this date. Kept the old one as there are parts on it, that I may be able to use sometime in the future.
