I like music. I have been playing guitar and bass for over three decades. This year I decided to learn to play drums, and start the keyboard journey.I have written, recorded, -both in studio and at my home studio-, and mastered my own music.I am not, by any means, an audiophile, so I won't talk about any of the "technical stuff".While I do appreciate my studio monitors and the tones they produce, I also enjoy listening to music on the stock car radio. I'm not a "sound quality snob"....But this little amplifier that Questyle put out might turn me into one.I notice a difference between headphone quality, and I notice a difference between high quality headphones and high quality headphones running through the M12i.Music seems "fuller" and more defined. I like this, and I have noticed a few background accents in songs I've listened to for over 40 years. Things like subtle backing vocals, or drum accents that are subtle but there. No, not like the cowbell in Don't Fear The Reaper... you don't even have to play that song to hear the cowbell...I think this headphone amp has upped my music playback expectations.That might be a good thing....

I was looking forward to this device considering it had the CMA (Current Mode Amplification) feature as well as Apple certification, but it's been a completely disappointment.First, it doesn't matter on what device I tried, Android, Windows PC, Macbook, or iPad, the device had a hissing and popping sound after exceeding -15 dB - anything above that and everything was completely distorted, and unfortunately not loud enough to drive simple 1 DD IEMs. Distortion got even worse with higher BA and DD count.I figured I'd try and update the firmware, which Questyle notably provides on their downloads page. But here's the catch... there's ZERO instructions on how to update it, and ZERO software to load up the ROM file into the device. So sure, you can download it, and maybe if you stare at the file long enough it will update itself...The latter is my biggest concern, especially considering I was planning on investing in a CMA18. It's a testament of how poorly the company is running. Imagine getting a $600+ device, you start having issues because of firmware incompatibility with your host device (Android, Apple, etc.) and then you can't even upgrade the firmware and have to go through 100 hoops with support? Yeah, no thank you. Returning and I do not recommend this product. Clearly the popping issue is just poor quality control, but the firmware issue sealed their fate for me.

Sound coming out on IEM’s was very good with this dongle. Seemed like best in class, but it suddenly stopped working and so had to return it.Update: Updating the rating to 5 star for a 5 star product now. Questyle representative got in touch and replaced the product and everything works so well now. Great customer service to keep customers happy.

Worked great, sound quality, very mobile, easy setup. 3rd week the usb connection appears to have worn out and no longer played audio on the left side. Changed cables everything, nothing. Using my other dongle dacs worked confirming it’s the device. Bummer

Review for the "Questyle M12i HiFi Headphone Amplifier".Worked great at first, and then over time I learned more about it's not not so great quirks.For my audio testing I listened to Tidal HiFi on my phone and on my computer.First impressions were great, and I think I started to like high res audio a bit too much. Some songs not in high res just didn't hit right with me anymore. Not to the same extreme at all, but an example I can think of is when I went from a 60Hz monitor to a 120Hz monitor.It comes with a very stiff USB-C to C cable. Works for my phone (pixel 8 pro) and my Windows 11 computer.Alright, now here are the things that changed over time:1. The included cable is very short and not premium at all. I started using a couple of my very nice USB-C to C cables. They worked great for a while, but after a week of only using the short one with my phone. Now the nice long ones don't work at all with it. Works fine with some of my cheap long USB-A to C cables, but not my nice ones anymore even though I don't see anything wrong with them. They still transfer power and data,(displays, high speed SSDs, charging my laptop).2. The second weird thing is that it turns on the 2nd LED power indicator for 32 Ohm headphones, but not my 50 Ohm headphones. Sometimes I can trick it, but not always.Hopefully nothing else changes overtime and I have to revisit this review.

I wanted to try one of these because they are regarded as one of the best sounding 3.5mm DAC's on the market with amazing analog sound quality. Waiting for the next lightning deal and getting another. This is the best sounding DAC dongle I own and the power is incredible.

I use a high res streaming service that has files up to 192KHZ and this is exactly what you need to take full advantage of something like that. The sound brings back the goose bumps you would get from music when you were younger. great build quality and simple plug and play operation. Works with phones, tablets, and computers. it is powered by the port you plug it into. I am super happy with this DAC and I highly recommend this. It is so simple yet so elegant and so good. I am grateful to have this and it is the perfect pair for high res streaming services such as QOBUZ and Tidal.
