Love This Tool for My 870
This tool makes removing and installing the Forend Nut on my Remington 870 a lot easier with it's extra length and sturdy stainless steel construction. It can also be used on Mossberg 500 and 590 too. For the price it's an extra stainless steel deal.

Ideal For Removing Shotgun Forend
I used this on my Winchester 1300 Defender 12 gauge shotgun. After removing the barrel retaining nut and slipping off the barrel, I slipped this tubular tool over the magazine tube and engaged it with the forend securing nut. A simple twist loosened the nut and I could easily remove it and the forend. Just gripping the tool and twisting was all that was necessary. It was quite easy. The tool is steel tubing and is accurately machine at both end to accommodate different styles of forend retaining nuts. I like that it is long enough to get a good hand grip on it. If you are going to customize the stock and forend on your shotgun, this helps to simplify the task. Also for a good tear down of your shotgun for a thorough cleaning, you will be glad you have this.Simple ideas are usually the best approach and this simple tool makes a tedious job easy with no damage to your shotgun and no frustration with using an improper tool.

Basic and Effective, Worked Well for my 870
I used this to install a new Magpul handguard on my 870P. The Magpul came with a small plastic tool but this metal tubular tool was actually easier to use. You would think the wings on the Magpul would be better for grip/leverage but they just got in the way. I was able to get more torque on the metal tool and spin off the nut faster. If your handguard nut is over tightened, you can slip a screwdriver through the hole in the tool and get a lot more leverage. I don’t have a 590 to test the other end of the tool but I’m very happy with it. I really like simple yet effective solutions and this fits that bill!

Perfect tool for the job
Used to assemble a couple Rem 870's from a box of parts. Quality was good and made the assembly go very smooth. I'm very happy with this new tool on my work bench.

100% What You Need!
Well, it was definitely 100% percent what I needed to remove the ring securing the forestock on my Moss500.Don't try removing this retaining ring with any sort of pliers... you'll likely damage your barrel coating! And a couple quick tips... wrap your barrel with masking tape, just in case... and if the nut doesn't come loose right away, heat it up with a hair dryer for 4 or 5 minutes and it will come right off.

Works well for effortlessly removing the forend nut
This is a pretty straightforward tool and while simple it helps to easily remove the forend nut of 870s. I didn't test it on a Mossberg 500 or 590 but it should work just as well there also. It gives you the ability to gain leverage over the nut without marring up the finish on it. It works just as well to reassemble and tighten to specs. I gave this one to the armorer in our shop where it gets a lot of use.

It works!
This disassembly tool seems to fit a Remington perfectly. The fam man hasn't tried it on a Mossberg yet, but it looks like it’s the same concept. It has a hole to get better grip using a screwdriver to loosen the nuts that have been in a long time. This is good to have if you disassemble your firearm for cleaning quite often. He says it's five stars!
