Always buy the Jodi Thomas
Historical or contemporary, I can count on liking a Jodi Thomas book. I REALLY liked Drum--he was such a strong, silent type that it was difficult to see him as such a young man. He was very knowing and perceptive, which led him to not give up on Sage when I might have been inclined. I agree with reviewers who gave kudos to the Bonnie and Brad story.

So much better than Princess novel
I panned the Texas Princess. Fortunately, it wasn’t my first Jodi Thomas novel. I loved every character, (oddly enough, even the villains) in this addition to the series. Our heroine is the star… and worthy of her hero. Quite a departure, I believe, from the typical western historical. It was well paced, believable and best of all….exciting. Well done, author. You really do know to write about intelligent, capable, inspiring women. I’ll forgive you for for the Princess nonsense.

very satisfying book in this series
I've been slowly working through Jodi Thomas's Whispering Mountain series as I've had the yearning for some good Western historicals. I was looking forward to this one and it didn't disappoint. Sage is the only girl and the youngest of the McMurray's. She's had bad luck in the romance department and has decided to become a doctor and ignore men. However, Drum Roak has known her since he was a scrawny teenager and is determined to make her his own. First, he has to show her that he's grown up (he's about three years younger than Sage which she constantly uses as a weak defense against being involved with him). Both Sage and Roak are great old Western characters, full of sass and adventure. And there's plenty of adventure. There's a sweet secondary romance with nurse Bonnie and her cowboy. And we get to see more of the McMurray family and how they're progressing with children and life.

Exceptional Journey!
In true form, Jodi Thomas delivers again. Characters grow and change, yet stay the same. Following the life and loves of the McMurray family, is always an adventure! Thank you Jodi!

Wish the other Jodi Thomas books were not out of print!
I got this book and many others by Jodi Thomas; but all of her books are no longer available in print. Have to either get them for kindle or buy them used. Wish I could find one store where I can buy them all in one place! Much prefer that Amazon can sell them besides the kindle version. This and all the books I was able to order arrived quickly and are in great shape! My wife is very excited about this author!

Best western romance around!
This author never disappoints with her western series. I only happened upon this author in the past year and I cannot get enough of her books. Luckily, she has written several. I have enjoyed them all.

Finally Sage
Love this series. Soooo couldn't wait for Sage to grow up and have her story. Drum was/is perfect for her. Did we have any doubts he would finally talk her into marrying him. They grew up good. Just love this series and will be reading more about Whispering Mountain. Always a big Jodi Thomas fan.

whispering mountain just keeps getting better and better, we first meet drumond in book 2 texas princess and knew there was something interesting between him and sage his character developed well in the 3rd book think tall dark and texan. this story had everything a historical romance should have and because sage and drumond have had a connection in earlier books it made this story more special its one of my favourite books ever.

Wouldn’t recommend
I like the author’s writing overall and enjoy her books but I truly found the female protagonist, Sage, in this novel very unlikeable. She’s arrogant, selfish, self-indulgent, myopic, and a bit cruel. She is mean to Drummond and looks down on him for almost the entire book and then we’re supposed to sigh and be happy that the two get together in the end? Not only that, but Drummond as a young teenager tried so hard to fit in with the entire McMurray family and they treat him like dirt and insult him his whole life even though he has saved them time and again. Only someone who has never had a family would crave to be accepted by people who reject him time and again. This hurt my heart to read and I felt like Drummond deserved so much more than this and Sage, so much less.
