This would once have been called "a man's shirt", before that became offensive
I mean, this shirt is tough. Can we put aside political correctness for a moment? Yes, I know women are plenty tough at times, also. Can we just let that go for a moment, when describing a shirt made for men? Ok? Are we ok now? This shirt was designed for those tough jobs and environments, to stand up to punishment, and yet look decent while you are so engaged. Climbing telephone poles? Yep, this shirt is good for that. Climbing trees and sawing them down? Yep, I imagine Paul Bunyan would have not a qualm about this shirt being in his wardrobe. Going to the local plant and doing some ironwork, bricklaying, hanging girders, welding, smelting, blacksmithing?Do you get the picture? This shirt is good for those, or so I would presume a bit for some. For me, this is a hearty outdoor shirt I'll gladly wear in cooler times, chopping wood and otherwise working out and about on the house. At the same time, it has enough style to run to the stores and markets, even out to a meal, and hardly be noticed.Working on the ranch all day, running from task to task? Here. Take this.First up as to the cloth. It is not soft. This is no snuggle-bunny shirt. This shirt is tough. That being said, it's not like it's made out of articulated animal parts... :) It's easy enough to be worn on skin, though I would say it would do better with a shirt beneath. The feel on the outside is fine, nice, fairly normal. It's not even overly thick, which again just speaks to its toughness. Now, onto the fit. This baby is big for its size. I mean, I wear a large and am pretty much dead center of that size. A well-made large will usually fit me perfectly. This shirt, aside from sleeve length, fits all the rest like an extra-large, easy. Further, it's quite long. I'm 6'1", and this could easily accommodate up to near 7' or so I would imagine. Lot's of hanging or tucking happening here. All in all, and this is what I said after I took it for a test ride... It all just works, somehow. I like the extra room, the extra heft. Though to be fair, I might have been just fine one size down. In the end, the pattern, style... all of it sort of demands some good use. I mean, otherwise, why order this type of shirt? Surely you can have more comfort and style in softer shirts, and for less $$. If you're in the market for a shirt I've described, then I recommend you give it a try. I expect this will last for some time.I hope this helps, and if I've offended anyone... well, seriously, life is already hard enough. Not good walking around looking to be offended all the time. Let it go.
