Fate & Furies: An epic romantic fantasy (The Legends of Thezmarr)
R**R
Wow, another fantastic addition to this must read series!
ate & Furies picks up our story after the devastation of Vows & Ruins with our would-be Warsword, Thea, chasing the fallen-warsward, Wilder, and running from her broken heart across the midrealms. To say the betrayal sent her into blind rage would be an understatement. She is a woman possessed. And it is honestly her development from this rage (which was pretty infuriating at times as she would just lose all reason) to the warrior we saw at the end, that was the most spellbinding for me. Thea is such a raw & real character. She can be blinded & stubborn but also cares so deeply and is willing to truly own her mistakes. I absolutely LOVED her question at the end, her fierce love and strength to persevere. Thea’s journey is one that is going to be in my heart for a long time to come.Outside Thea, I think Kipp is my next favorite character. Not only is he brilliant and hilarious but he comes with lore that always has me cackling when we see it come up. All the moments in the Singing Hare were so good. I need these taverns in my real life. The pacing allowed for some fantastic moments that brought growth to our favorites but also breathing room for a bit of levity between the tension and action. That is, until you get to the last 4-5 chapters which were absolutely bananas and had my eyes wide, gasping & talking to myself huddled under a warm blanket. Again. The Legends of Thezmarr is hands down one of my favorite fantasy series. It has everything I could ever want in a book from absolutely lovable characters, transporting world-building, high-stakes, beautiful transformations, and of course some spicy romance. Fate & Furies was nothing short of another incredible installment in this epic series. It was such an adventure to see how the threads & foreshadowing from the previous books came together and propelled the story into new twists & turns. I cannot wait to get my hands on the finale, Shadow & Storms! If you have not already picked it up, Blood & Steel is a MUST read. If you are already a fan, Fate & Furies will not disappoint!Recommended for fans of: Epic adventures, bad ass heroines, broody but flirty warriors, The Bridge Kingdom, romantic fantasy, storm magic, feminine rage, a dash of The Witcher, and fantastic worlds.

Great Character Development
Love the development & growth of Thea. Worth the read to find out what happens with the MMC.This third book in the series was probably my most favorite due to the growth of Thea. She develops from a self-centered/selfish character to realizing that she shouldn’t be all about herself & that she needed to put others before her. Her relationships with the other characters gets better (as she becomes more self-aware of her downfalls).I love love love Cal & Kipp tho. They’re my fave. 😂

An Epic Penultimate
Fate & Furies left me absolutely speechless and utterly gobsmacked! It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of The Legends of Thezmarr series, but Helen Scheuerer rightfully deserves all the praise and accolades bestowed upon her for this book. Scheuerer masterfully crafts the continuation of Thea, Wilder, and the rest of the crew’s stories in a way that is true to the messy, raw, and vulnerable nature of human beingsFate & Furies picks up a year after the conclusion of Vows & Ruins and wastes no time jumping back into the action-packed pacing of the series. The growth of Thea and Wilder as they navigate their choices made in V&R, their ever-evolving relationship, and the state of the Midrealms was masterfully portrayed. Scheuerer truly wrote and depicted a realistic representation of the emotions, choices, and internal struggles that both MCs faced. What truly impressed and left me in absolute awe was Scheuerer’s capability to flesh out the storylines of the supporting characters in a way that not only directly impacted and progressed the overall plot, but invested me in each of their own journeys. Over the course of the series, Scheuerer thoughtfully weaved the personalities, backstories, and goals of over 10 characters into Thea and Wilder’s journey which is an incredible feat. Fans of the series are truly just as invested in Wren, Kipp, Torj, Cal, and countless others as much as they are the MCs.My only gripe with Fate & Furies is that it’s a Catch-22. If you’re in a reading slump or experiencing a book hangover, F&F will absolutely get you out of it - only to leave you right back in a book hangover because you will struggle to find another book that makes you feel fully immersed in its world.Full of twists you don’t see coming, heartwarming moments that spur a bit of nostalgia, witty quips that’ll have you cackling, and a level of suspense that makes you want to send Helen your therapy bill, Fate & Furies is truly an epic penultimate. For readers of the series, I can promise you this - you will absolutely love Book 3! If you have yet to read Slaying the Shadow Prince, I highly recommend reading it before starting Fate & Furies as it will enhance the reading experience tremendously. For anyone who stumbled upon this review without having read Blood & Steel (Book 1), Slaying the Shadow Prince (a standalone novel that can be read as a prequel), or Vows & Ruins (Book 3), you will fall in love with the world and characters Scheuerer has created. The Legends of Thezmarr is truly one of the most nuanced series I’ve read with every detail tying into the intricately woven storyline of not only the protagonists, but the supporting characters as well.Favorite Quotes (Possible Spoilers):“She’d gladly scour a hundred more if it meant vengeance would be hers. It had become her currency, her religion.”“‘You’re welcome to join me.’ Hawthorne didn’t even deign to open his eyes. ‘If staring’s not doing enough for you.’”“‘The closer you get to true happiness, the more you fear it,’ he said. ‘It’s a fear that slips quietly through the cracks, that lies in wait for those weaker moments before it pounces. It’s the what ifs while you wait in the dark… What if it all goes wrong? What if you lose it all?’”“‘Is he some sort of cross-kingdom bootlegger as well?’ Wilder huffed a laugh. ‘I think there’s a high chance of that.’”“Thea became lighter than air, more fluid than water. She felt the world shift around her, felt the kiss of a blade before it struck, saw the decision in a man’s eyes before he made it. This, this was what she lived for now: the song of steel, the splatter of blood, the final breath a host of darkness stole before she took its life.”“‘I never claimed to be smart,’ she muttered, ‘Luckily I’m smart enough for all or us,’ Kipp replied, offering a grin.“He leant in slowly, deliberately. ‘Admit it,’ he growled, his gaze dropping to her mouth. ‘You were jealous.’”“‘Because there is power in names,’ Thea replied. ‘And women whose might is etched in history deserve to have their names carved there too.’”

I am HERE for any female character doing whatever it takes for them to reach their dreams
From the very beginning I have loved Althea and all she represents. Growing up rereading and worshipping at the altar of Alanna from Tamora Pierce's Lioness Quartet, I am HERE for any female character doing whatever it takes for them to reach their dreams. Althea's continual dedication to her journey to be a Warsword coupled with the emotional upheaval surrounding betrayal, grappling with who you are and supposed to be and the coming conflict with the ultimate evil, is incredibly engaging and frankly, it all has a permanent strangle hold on my heart. The surrounding characters continue to be mysterious but not in a sinister way, hilarious and complex. #protectkipatallcostsI also love the potential for spin off novels following the surrounding characters who deserve their own stories being told through Scheuere's sensational writing style!

Book 3This Book was just as good as the other 2, plot twists, elements from the past coming to life and being explained and making more sense with the rest of the story. of course i knew it would end in a cliffhanger since book 4 will be coming in almost 2 months from now(oh noooo send help🙃)but still a bit frustrating.Thea and Wilder.... can't wait to see where these two will end up. Thea is now 26 and if you know it you know.....i really enjoyed the book just like the others and will explored more tittles from this authorHappy Reading

Review
Y oooh dioos final!NECESITO EL ULTIMO LIBRO YA!

A must read
Wawwww. Speechless.I was Hooked by this book. This saga was a crescendo : it went from being an "okay" book, with the first one, to a really good one with the second. And what to say about the third ? It was amazing !!!I loved, loved, LOVED it. It has everything it needs: a great plot, tons of actions, romance, emotions. The wold building is great, and the writing is addicting. I particularly enjoyed reading the evolution of Thea from the first book to now. She's a bad ass, but she's not driving you crazy like a lot of heroins. She knows when to admit she's wrong, expresses her feelings, and she double thinks her actions. I particularly enjoyed her interactions with Wilder. She's really a great character. And what can I say about this end ? legit wanted to shout several times. I won't say anything else because you need to read it, and you'll understand.I tried to read this book as slow as I could so the waiting till the next one would be smaller. But that was so not helpful. The wait until October is going to be so long. But in a very paradoxical way, I really enjoy being hangover on this book, cause it means I finally found a new serie that loved, and am so not disappointed.
