We used them on a 12 hour trip right away. They worked great! Our gas mileage suffered but we knew it would. We didn’t hear any whistling. They would be easy to remove and put in storage but we have just left them on. They are easy to slide to the exact location you need them. They do lock in place with a key.

Only doing 4 stars until I go on a long road trip to see the durability. Easy to install though and seems well designed.

It doesn't fit firmly and falls off.

These fit my Kia Sorento Hybrid but scratched and gauged the silver bars they attached to so now will have to try touch up paint. My car also sounded like it was wheezing as I drove if I didn't have the cartop carrier on. I could not figure out why, but I took the bars off and now I don't hear the sound anymore.

This is the first roof rack I've ever had for our Sorento, so I don't really have anything to compare them with. As far as I can tell, they work very well. These took a little longer to install than I thought they would but it wasn't too bad. They tell you to just loosen the hardware to get the clamps on the roof rails, but I was not able to get the clamps opened far enough that way. So, I had to remove it all the way and then that made it a bit harder to get it started again. But in the end, I was able to get all four of the clamps attached and they have held on well. I got these so I could attach kayak racks and they work great for that due to the height above the roof. This allows for plenty of room for the screws and brackets for the kayak rack between the rails and the roof of the car. I drove on a couple of long trips with these installed and really did not notice much if any difference in the gas mileage, either. So, no complaints and I can definitely recommend these.

This mounted up to our Kia with very few issues. One of the mounting bolts were cross threaded from the manufacturer so it was a minor irritation. The finish is great and it easily accommodated the weight of two large kayaks for a weekend trip. The value is considerable in relation to similar products. Aside from the one bolt everything was easy to get installed and the process was intuitive which is good because the instructions were the typical terrible.
