KPK TENOR
I was looking for a tenor ukulele that wouldn't break the bank, so I checked them out online and saw the KPK selling on another popular website. I liked the way it looked and I liked the fact that it was made with solid wood rather than a laminate. I read all the reviews I could find and listen to the sound samples on youtube. I liked what I had read and also heard, so I decided to take a chance. Keep in mind I own a few high end uks. When I received my KPK (which came fast by the way) I made 2 modifications. 1. I installed new hawaiian strings, 2. I lowered the action a bit. Now, my KPK is my favorite ukulele to play. The sound is nice and clean with very good projection. If your looking to buy a new tenor and you don't want to shell out $500 or more, do yourself a favor....KPK is the way to go! P.S. You won't find a better deal then Amazon has!Mahalo,Bo

Beautiful Wood - Functional instrument
This ukulele was exactly as advertised. It plays and sounds good.I took one star off because one of the strings was nicked. Must have been overlooked when shipped. The intonation is better than I thought it would be but does get iffy above the 8th fret.It records good with a small condenser mic pointed at the bridge. The wood is beautiful and the instrument is well made. All in all I'm happy with it and would recommend this to anyone looking for a functional instrument.

Great uke!
I just received my KPK acacia tenor uke a few days ago. It was carefully packed and arrived safely. This is my first uke and I couldn't be happier with it! It is truly beautiful, well-made, and I think it sounds amazing. I spent weeks researching different brands of ukuleles before deciding on this one. I am positive I picked the right one. This is a sweetie! Another reviewer mentioned the "cheesy headstock decal" -- that has been changed to a laser engraved logo (very nice), also silver tuners with black buttons have replaced the gold tuners pictured. A simply beautiful instrument.

Changed the strings asap from the worth to the aquilla tenor strings and it sounds much better once the strings stretch and sett
My second uke, my 1st tenor, moved up from a soprano, takes a little getting used to. Changed the strings asap from the worth to the aquilla tenor strings and it sounds much better once the strings stretch and settle in. Not as loose as the soprano strings which took some getting used to, and some calluses. But I do love playing on it and use it almost every day. Once I pick it up, odds are I'm not setting it down for hours. For the strings you have to tie a knot in the string and run it into the holes below the bridge, which when I changed the strings, was actually pretty difficult on the C string. I wound up using a needle nose pliers and leaving a slight scuff on the uke. Either way, she's a beaut and sounds great and the best price I could find for an all solid uke.

Sweet sound from all solid wood. Simple but attractive aesthetics. Arrived from Hawaii five days after order. Nice price. 100 percent satisfied.

Beautiful not just in looks but "voice" too!
I must admit that I was hesitant ordering a ukulele from a company I never heard about. I did my research and found that my fears may have been unfounded. I even wrote to Jason with some of my questions and concerns and he satisfied them all.The instrument is beautiful as stated in the headline in looks and sound. Acacia wood is absolutely beautiful. I was playing "Hannah" (you have got to name your ukes..lol) on the front porch and when the sun hit her "wow"! She reminded me of an old tiger eye ring I had years ago and the wood grain seemed alive and would dance in the sunlight. The tone is just wonderful and was amazed by the sustain of notes or cords that were played from the very first song I played. I have never used Worth strings in the past but I see why Jason (yes a real live person who will set yours up) chose them for his KPK's they are easy on the fingers and ring out wonderfully.I ordered mine with a bone saddle and nut so I can not compare what the standard wood ones sound like. I can attest that the bone works for me and others state the wood saddle sound more mellow???The bodies are made in China but the setup is made in Hawaii. The label inside the instrument does reflect "Hand Crafted" and has the Hawaii address and contact information and thus shipped from Hawaii. If you wish to hear what one sounds like just Google KPK Tenor and you will be able to hear one played. Of course in my opinion the sound on the videos do not do the instrument justice compared to real live playing. If you are new to ukuleles do yourself a favor and start out with a quality instrument. You will stick with it longer and not have to upgrade quickly. In my opinion this instrument is a bargain and unless you wish to play professionally like Jake or James Hill this will take you to where you wish to go for far less $$$ than the other "K's" out there that sell for well over a $1,000 up to Jake's at over $6,000.http://www.amazon.com/Kanilea-K-1-Tenor-Premium-Ukulele/dp/B00KGFTW5I/ref=sr_1_17?ie=UTF8&qid=1413048981&sr=8-17&keywords=professional+tenor+ukuleleHere is a challenge, try to find a used KPK.....my bet is that you won't. We hang onto these gems and I bet you will also. You can buy a cheaper ukulele, but as others have stated you won't find one much better......at least at this price! Don't forget this IS a solid wood ukulele like the high dollar "K's" and not a veneer laminate.Yes, I Love My KPK!
