HVAC Duct Tape, heat resistant - aluminum foil tape, 2 inch by 55 yards
This is a thin but very heavy-duty aluminum HVAC duct tape that has good adhesive qualities. Used scissors to cut and it stayed smooth during application and stayed in place very well. It adhered nicely to the duct work, sealing up cracks to ensure we don't have air loss in the basement.

Molds around ductwork with screws and uneven surfaces very well
I ordered this aluminum foil duct tape to apply over the areas where the duct work meets. The quality of this tape is excellent. It molds around the screws and uneven surfaces of the duct work, really well. The backing is easy to peel off, and the adhesive is very sticky. It’s thin enough to make it moldable, and easy to work with, but thick enough that it won’t tear easily, and the air can’t get through it. I would definitely order this duct tape again.

Sticks well
This tape works as expected. It is a little thinner than the specified 3.9 mil (0.1mm) -- I measured two layers stuck to each other at 0.17mm, so each layer is 0.085mm (3.3 mil). Keep in mind that some of that thickness is due to the adhesive. The aluminum foil itself is likely around 2.5-3 mil. Also keep in mind that this tape may not be suitable for HVAC / ductwork, as it is not labeled as UL 181 compliant as required by code. For other uses it should work fine.

Versatile aluminum foil tape
I first used aluminum foil tape when installing a new range hood many years ago. Since then, I have found many uses for this type of type that provides metal structural support for things I am taping together. This Duratape Aluminum Foil Tape works well as others with a more recognizable brand. In fact, I really disliked that brand being stamped all over the tape. This tape is clean and looks so much better. So far, the functionality has been equivalent. I am expecting the adhesive to last as long as the other aluminum tapes I have used.

Great Heavy Duty Tape
This is probably the most useful tape you can have on hand. It is so versatile and great for so many repairs. When used on ductwork or on a dryer vent, it will seemingly last forever, until you remove it. As opposed to regular silver duct tape, that dries out, loses its sticking ability and gets crusty and crumby (and thus, allows leaks) this metal tape will stand the test of time. It is so durable I have seen people use it as a temporary repair on a hole in a muffler. It is also heat resistant. 2 inches wide and you get about 165 feet long. This strong tape won't tear either, you'll need scissors to cut it. Highly recommended.

A must-have in your garage or shop
The media could not be loaded. Aluminum foil tape is something you should have in your garage or shop. I use it for ductwork repairs of course, but also other projects. Recently, my exterior door threshold started to leak. I was able to mend it with foil tape until I could have it repaired. I like the 2-inch size as it allows more flexibility in projects. 3- and 4-inch sizes work great as well but can be more difficult to use. I like aluminum foil tape because it is sticky, durable, and can be waterproof if applied correctly. This is a large 55-yard roll. Be careful because you can get cuts.
