Great instead of garam masala
i used this in vegetable curry I made but instead of cooking with garam masala I used this Sambhar Masala instead(although I still sprinkled a bit of garam at the end) and I was really pleased with the result. To me it made my usual veg curry a bit richer tasting with a deeper flavour.I'm impressed and will be reaching for it rather often I think!

Delicious.
Sambhar masala is a new discovery for me, and I think it's very tasty! I'm familiar with garam masala, and this is similar, but but with a deeper more earthy flavour, and more umami. As far as I can glean from the inter webs, garam masala is a North Indian spice, and sambar masala originates from the south. Hopefully I got that right. This stuff is great in curried lentils and veg, and I made a rather good spicy chicken soup with it the other week. I'm looking forward to trying out more recipes soon, and it's fun to experiment with new flavours. The packet can be re-sealed, and the contents smell vibrant and fresh. Apparently it has been hand ground in a traditional stone spice mill. If like me you enjoy Indian food, it's definitely worth trying.

Earthy flavour and well sealed
I found the top harder to open as the seal was really close to the resealable part but I used a knife to prise it apart. To my surprise I found the powder in another sealed bag inside so I would hope this helps keep it fresh when unopened.I tried this with my own recipe, probably not one that anyone would ever want to replicate, but it was a tomato base that I slow cooked with beef. With my recipe, I found the taste to be a pleasant earthy flavour. I had no expectations of what it would taste like so just went with the flow. I can't compare how it tastes but what I can say is, the house smelled amazing while cooking and the curry I made was really nice. The powder won't last long but I will try other ways to use it and probably look up some tried and tested recipes.

Great flavour
Added this to my curry paste, I heat all the spices up in a pan, then add some vegetable oil and a bit of water to make the paste. Tastes amazing and adds a really nice element to my curries.

Premium Spice Mix
This brand of Garam Masala is definitely high end.I use a lot of indian spice mixes and garam masala being the one I use most frequently. I have used many different brands. You can certainly tell that this has been hand ground given the intense and rich aromas compared with some cheaper brands.Naturally, you need to use less of the spice mix to get the rich, depth of flavors. It does make the blend expensive in comparison too.I personally am OK with spending a few dollars more each dish to enjoy the richness and subtlety of flavors but other palates may not need that. You get the same basic flavors from any Garam Masala so it ends up being a personal choice.ππ

Pav Badji spice
I'm a big fan of learning about and cooking foreign food recipes, so when I received this packet of pav badji spices I got to work. Pav Badji is apparently a traditional Indian street food sold with buns. I found a pressure cooker recipe that worked with my potatoes and veggies on hand, and added a couple of tablespoons of this spice mix and some ghee at the end. Mashed it all up and the resulting curry is marvelous. Couldn't have been much easier, if only vegetables came prediced.

Great for stir fry recipes!
I love to cook. I ordered this blend of spices that are ideal for stir fry dishes to make for our family. I like having a spice blend premixed for stir fry recipes. When cooking with spices, it is important to taste test until the end to make sure the food meets the flavor test. This spice blend is heavy on the cinnamon, so I had to adjust for flavor preference.

Delicious; Similar to garam masala
This tastes very similar to a garam masala. It isn't hot spicy; it's flavorful spicy. I would absolutely get this again.
