Refina Plastic Trowel with Nylon 2mm Blade 11" - 269513

I am a DIYer but have a go at plastering from time to time. I usually use a metal floating trowel to finish the final plaster coat but I read that using a plastic trowel promotes a more matt finish to the final finish rather than a slightly shiny finish that you typically get with a metal trowel. I found that usually this trowel did produce a more matt finish which is useful for the paint that may inevitably want to put on the plaster since it has dried. The lack of a shine means the wall shows through less on the primer/first coat which means you don't generally need to throw on as much paint to get your desired result - your mileage may vary depending on the type/color of paint you are using and whether you are putting a mist coat on first.The plastic blade is also a little bit more flexible than a metal blade so if you plastering technique is in the amateurish range (like mine) then you may find this plastic trowel also a little bit more forgiving. For the price this is an excellent trowel and suited my particular needs well, even though there are probably a good deal number of other uses you can find for it.
