Great Raspberry Pi touch screen
I've had this screen for about a month now. The screen arrived very well packaged in a strong cardboard box with foam padding containing the display, a short flat cable hdmi cable, micro to standard usb cable and a CD (I didn't really go into what was on the CD, but from a quick look it contains drivers & possibly some code examples). Setting up the screen was simply a matter of connecting cables to the RPi and updating the config.txt file in the boot directory with the following settings:hdmi_force_hotplug=1hdmi_group=2hdmi_mode=2hdmi_mode=87hdmi_cvt=1024 600 60 3 0 0 0The touch screen functionality just worked out of the box. The screen is fine for a relatively cheap unit, with touch capability. To set your expectations to the right level, don't expect something that is the same quality as say an iPad screen. The screen is a little washed out, there is some light bleed from the back light, the viewing angle isn't massive. Having said all that given the price it completely meets my expectations and the RPi desktop interface is easy to drive using this display, hence the five star review and based on my experience I would recommend this product.

7 inch model install instructions (RPi)
7 inch screen. I was up and running with the screen pretty quickly. As mentioned in other reviews: the instructions out of the box are not great and the instructions from the link below are not correct for the 7 inch version.[...]Before starting the following instructions it might be worthwhile checking for updates by typing the following in a terminal window:sudo apt-get updateI already had raspbian (wheezy) running on a RPi 2 model B (a01041) so just added the text below to the bottom of the /boot/config.txt file.Connecting the usb from the screen to the pi allowed the touch features to work as well as providing power.max_usb_current=1hdmi_group=2hdmi_mode=1hdmi_mode=87hdmi_cvt 1024 600 60 6 0 0 0Note that the dimensions for the 7 inch model are 1024x600. The instructions on the website are for a different model with different dimensions so the screen will just flicker and appear not to work. Overall, this is a great screen and is well priced.

Great screen, nice and fast
Great screen, nice and fast, good viewing angle and nice colours, no multi-touch on raspberry pi. It is stated on the waveshare website but wasn't on the seller page and only found out afterwards. My first screen though.

Highly recommended!
I was looking for something to add a bit of "pizzazz" to my media centre and this really hit the spot. As a screen the resolution is better than expected and with windows 10 there is an option for a touch interface which makes the capasative screen function even better that the default. It's not a retina display nor is it 4K but for £40 this is really good quality. you really can not do better than this for the price!

Doesn't work with Pi3
Unfortunately the 7 inch model doesn't work with the Pi3 as advertised. Firstly the drivers are difficult to find and impossible to install. I spent a whole afternoon trying to do this. Secondly it draws more power than the Pi can supply so needs an auxiliary power supply, which means plugging a charger into the mini-usb, so it isn't connected to the usb of the Pi and therefore it doesn't work as a touch screen. Big disappointment as so many manufacturers who produce ancillaries for the Pi make them simple and easy to use - this is unnecessarily complicated. Shame as I plugged the screen into my Mac and it seems a good quality product.

Works great with the Raspberry Pi Zero
I got the 5" and 7" versions and tested them with a Pi Zero. The Zero had the latest Raspbien(Jessie) and the touch functions worked out the box without any extra software. You'll need to set the HDMI settings in config.txt for the correct resolution etc.

this is fantastic Screen so clear
Wow, this is fantastic Screen so clear, Had problem with the CD, errors extracting the files all sorts, I used the sh to install it and it disabled the USB, but the solution was simplejust add these lines into the /etc/boot/config.txt (Worked Perfectly and the touch screen)#hdmi_drive=2hdmi_group=2hdmi_mode=1hdmi_mode=87hdmi_cvt 1024 600 60 6 0 0 0max_usb_current=1also deleted the last line of code!
