70-inch x 3-inch Heavy Duty Hidden Mantel Hardware - Easily Install A 72-inch to 81-inch Mantel - Made in The USA

This mount is worth the money but, you will need some “know how” and equipment to install properly. I used the 3” x 58” mount for my reclaimed refinished rustic 8”x8” Douglas Fir mantel.The bracket comes with a good install guide and has pretty good dimensional information which, helps. Most all the dimensions were within 1/16”. The bracket utilizes welds to fix the post to the bracket flange.The instructions are only for hallow mantels and does not describe all the info needed for a solid mantel like the one I used it for. Also only listed information for stud and drywall installation.The only thing I did to modify the bracket is drilling and counter sinking three (3) additional holes on the “bottom” of the front face. I felt this was needed because I am mounting to a brick face fire place. Since the screws are in the mortar joint the bracket wants to lift/tilt forward/up. So these extra bottom holes add extra holding strength and helps to keep the mount from tilting up.I took the extra time to route out a recess to allow the bracket flange to sit “inside” the mantel back face. This allows for the mantel to sit flush with the wall. Otherwise the mantel will sit proud of the wall.The weight rating it provided/stated was double of the mantel I was installing, so that made me feel comfortable as well.I would recommend this bracket to others and would buy it again for similar projects.

Easy to install. Very sturdy/heavy duty. We had gotten estimates to install our mantel which is a larger live edge black walnut piece that ran towards $1000 (we already had the mantel) so we decided to DIY it. We spent just over $100 and about a hour to an hour and a half to hang the bracket, drill the holes and install it. The end results are amazing. We couldn’t be happier.

Worked perfectly for our floating mantel

I’m impressed with how sturdy it is. It took me awhile though to install my mantle but after boring the exact hole size, it went in smoothly. I took a pic of my mantle to see how sturdy it is.

Install was not as easy as we thought it would be. Instructions said to use a 1” bit but that was not big enough. Fit was way to tight. Overall nice concept.

Arrived way ahead of schedule!we didn’t think we would have this done before Christmas!!!! Had a nice hand written thank you note.Only one negative comment/suggestion.... wish there was a template to help mark the mantel that is going up. Would have made it a lot easier to drill holes . With that being said this is very sturdy and will soon be holding a 150 pounds piece of black oak. Will post mantel when complete!

Welds did hold. Have to fix it

Worked very well for mounting a pine mantel. Took some effect and careful measuring to ensure proper hole placement on the mantel but overall went well. Been holding up great over a month. Much easier using this mount than boring out holes in your walls and securing posts.

Excellent product. Had to drill 1 1/8" holes to fit the mantle into place. I would recommend this product.

I haven’t installed it yet as I am waiting for a live edge mantel I’ve ordered.
