bang for your buck
Super high quality . Great deal. I paid 5 bucks. The knife is super sharp I can do everything with it. Best knife I ever owned. I also own a smith and wesson pen but for 25 is very high price. I carry this more because if you need yo use it shine the light quickly reverse for optimal protection and defense.

A good value if it will meet your needs.
I purchased this despite the negative reviews of two other buyers. The packaging does not indicate that the penlight writes (it's a penlight, not a pen after all) and it is certainly sturdy enough to be used in a self-defense situation. Would it stand up to actual use in that capacity? My feeling is that if it performs successfully just once, it will have been well worth the modest price. Furthermore, the light is very bright for such a small light. On the other hand, it's a bit larger than a normal pen, so that might limit carrying options for some people. I bought this for my wife to carry when a knife or other weapon isn't an option, and she is happy with it. Hopefully, she never needs to protect herself with it, but it should be up to the task. The include knife isn't terribly unique among Chinese folding knives, but I have a number of such knives (as well as many that are substantially nicer and more expensive) and this one is comfortable and easier to open than some of my name-brand folding knives. There is no side-to-side play in the blade, either in the opened or closed position, and it is functionally sharp right out of the package. Whether or not it holds an edge and responds to sharpening remains to be seen. However, this is indeed a cheap knife, so I have limited expectations.Neither the penlight nor the knife will win any "best in class" awards, but either (or both) would be right at home in a pocket, purse or glove compartment. The price is hard to beat.

not a bad deal for the money
first the penlight and defensive tool, it is extremely bright and sturdy. The whole thing is nicely constructed out of Aluminum. I'm keeping it in my car as a flashlight/defensive tool/glass breaker in emergencies. The knife is where this bundle is let down. it is a cheap knife decently sharp but a couple runs through cardboard and it need a sharpening.

Just what I wanted!
The penlight is very bright. The LEDs they are making now are so much better than they were just a few years ago. This is not a pen that you can write with. Instead, it has a nice pointed tip that you could break your car window with, or use it as self defense if someone came up behind you. The knife is nice, but not spring assisted. I have really small hands, and it is hard for me to open with one hand. It is a good, heavy knife, and sharp enough for me!

Knife and pen are excellent
These two tools are incredibly well designed and very useful. The pen itself is in my pocket or backpack all the time and the knife as well. Both are very light but very strong.

warning - not a "pen"
I really thought it was a combination of the knife and the pen light (note the word pen). However it not the same. But it still works well as a self defense tool and light, and the knife is of better quality than I expected for the price.

Not what expected.
I bought this combo with the idea that the selfdefense penlight was actually a pen. Unfortunatley it is only a glass breaker and flash light. The flashight is also activated by screwing down one side of the pen. You have to leave the screw very loose when you dont want the flashlight on, because if you dont a little bit of pressure will cause the light to turn on. I had no problems with the pocketknife..

nice set
I keep both of these in my car. Be aware that the penlight is NOT a pen; it's got a great little LED in the head. The knife is pretty good too.
