Bindrune Hammer Alchemy Gothic Pendant Necklace

First off, the chain that comes with it, sucks. Very small chain and not even worth having for anybody not 5 years old, because the chain is so short it's surely meant for a child. Though I disliked the chain, I expected it to come with a really short chain because most pendants and necklaces do, so I would not subtract a star for it.The pendant its self is superbly crafted and the cuts into the pewter are very clear cut and easy to see. It's a heavier pendant (expected because it's made of pewter) which is never a bad thing. Very sturdy and easy to see pendant, i've gotten quite a few comments on this one, though anybody who is not an Odinist or a comic book reader knows who Thor is. I would recommend this to anybody looking for a Mjölnir pendant. It's definitely worth a little extra money over a steel one or a smaller one.

I'd like to update my review (regarding the chain) after about a week or so. So far, it's pretty. Durable looking and feeling. And fits my little female chicken neck perfectly. Going on a flea market spree and going to be in the outdoors a lot this week, so we'll see how strong it is then. I'll be getting a leather necklace, though, to give it more of an authentic feel (as someone else mentioned they'll be doing, too).First off, the shipping: It seemed like this item had shipped just one or two days after I had bought it. Really fast. Box was not damaged in the least, either (though, that's usually the postmaster's fault).Any way, I'm an Aries/Metal Horse/Falcon/Fox (all of them share very similar base aspects), very masculine in my personality and likes (despite being female), and the symbols on the hammer were perfect for the troubles that I usually face about twice a year. I'll have a spurt where the negative aspects of my sign/s seem to be the only thing that I can feel: I need a boost to the positive portions of them. I was having one of those times.When I opened the box and took the first larger item I'd gotten, I noticed the necklace was there - one of the things I was looking forward to getting the most! When I picked it up: heavy. I could tell it was good quality without even having opened the item's package yet. I'd looked at quite a few hammers and this one was one of the largest (in regards to size), and the design was by far the most accurate I'd seen. When I got it out, I weighed it in my hands, and kind of focused on it a bit. There was at least some sort of power in this item, I could tell. Might not even be able to wear it all of the time, I thought, because I usually don't feel such strength coming from an object. The weight and size gave it even more of an effect - or at least, an impression.So, I finally put the thing on, and focus on if I'm feeling any different than I did before. I'm wearing a quartz necklace as well, which may or may not have been beneficial in amplifying any power this object had. Definitely feeling something here. Achey and tight muscles have loosened up by a small amount in the first five minutes of wearing it. Brain fog is clearing, and...what's this? Actually feeling energy, other than the "Draining" type of energy that's been dragging me down lately. So far, so good! Can't wait to see how I'm feeling after wearing this all day.But, I'll add to the review and make any changes after a week, two weeks, or so.

I ordered one and had to order more after other males in household saw it firsthand and requested one. This is a very attractive masculine piece and I believe it's English pewter but not sure of chain material.The men in my household wanted something solid with accuracy in terms of historical design and rune use and they wanted to show 'ancestral pride'. For us, this pendant meets that criteria with flying colors! My ONLY complaint is lack of info and specs on Amazon for this piece; I was able to find details (design and bindrune explanation) on other sites but would prefer to read it here. However, there is a purchase review here on Amazon I did find very useful. I ordered from here for obvious reasons if you research this pendant...Moving on, I'll provide some specs: The chain length is approx. 18 3/4" (with clasp incl.), weight of both chain and pendant is approx. .12 oz and may sound heavy but I'm told it's a nice weight by my men. Length of pendant is 1 5/8" which may sound big but sometimes specs can be a bit deceiving. As a quick reference, I used a quarter and a dime taped on a piece of Scotch tape to get an idea of how this would look. After seeing the pendants on sons and hubby, I think they look great and not too big at all. We love this pendant!!!Update - 2015: 1) Glad to see they added specs and info since purchase in 2013; there were no specs or info at that time, 2) The chains are subpar as others have claimed, so consider leather, woven sterling chain, etc. to replace it relatively soon after purchase as it can break at clasp and just generally frustrate you, 3) The pendant does dull over time but clean with mild soap, water, buff with soft cloth (pewter is tin with small amt of copper and modern pewter should be lead-free).

I love this Hammer. It has just the right weight that you can feel it around your neck without being uncomfortable. All I did was change the chain it came on as the provided one was a choker, quite literally. It JUST fit around my neck. I bought a 'dog tag' chain and slipped it onto that and it is just fine. Eventually think I may replace that with a 'bootlace' but I'm in no hurry. This wasn't the cheapest Mjolnir pendant but neither was is particularly expensive. I think the cost was middle-of-the-road but the value for money is, as the old advert says, 'priceless' :) If you are treading the path of Heathenry, in any of its aspects, and like to wear jewelry that shows your faith then I would heartily recommend this.

This is a heavy, substantial, beautiful pendant. It is exactly what I was looking for.As others have noted, the chain is too short if you have much of a neck at all, and it will also catch easily on your hair. So get a leather, black satin, or waxed cotton cord.

The only reason it wasn't 5 stars was because the necklace wasn't very good, the pendant was beautiful so happy with it excellent size condition and detail

gave me a skin irritation. chain is too short for the size of the pendant i think. it becomes very dull dark grey quickly. the chain turns dull yellow. i only give it 3 stars because the design is really cool.
