Okay for what it is but..
Plastic cups had deep scratches and gouges on it , and they hide that itβs a Chinese product. Hoping it will last a few months but unsure

Quiet and cleanable freshwater aquarium filtration
I am so far impressed with this filtration unit for our freshwater aquarium. It was easy to assemble and set up to begin working in our tank. The box the filtration unit comes in is in Chinese so unless you can read that, there are no directions for set up. I pretty much had to guess where to connect the airline hose to the unit, but it's not too difficult. This also does not come with an air pump, but that is stated in the description so I already knew that I would have to purchase that separately. I also used a different airline hose than the one that came with the filtration unit, as it is really thin and flimsy. Once hooked up there is almost no noise at all coming from the unit while running, the only slight sound I hear is coming from the little air bubbles coming through the outflow mixed with water. It was an added bonus having air enter the tank along with the water filtration which I was not expecting. Overall, I am pretty impressed for the price and that it is not bulky hanging off the back of the tank. Having this filtration completely submersible, it is easy to hide in the tank while running.

Nice sponge filter with media, but a bit expensive
I got this to add to a 100g aquarium that is currently running two cannister filters. I wanted more surface area but I wanted it to be fairly narrow so it wouldn't take up more floor space. Width was fine, just didn't want to cut into the 18 depth in width is all. This solved that need. With the dual sponges, this is more of a wide filter than it is deep. Ideal for placing along a back wall like I have (see pic). The height has a bigger than usual range, so it can extend quite a ways for taller show tanks too. With the two sponges, and the media cups at the bottom, I believe this filter will give me plenty of intake cleaning. While you may wonder why I run a sponge filter with two cannisters, I do it for the in tank qualities that I believe only a decent sponge filter can offer. Much better than throwing a sponge over a cannister intake tube too in my experience. My only nit pick for this filter is the lack of being able to add an air stone. This filter doesn't use an air stone so the bubbles are larger than I like to see. Not a huge problem for this tank sinceit ia an acrylic tank with an enclosed top area right above the sponge filter, so I don't have to worry about too much splash issues. Still I'd like it better with an air stone option. The nit pick is the price. It's a bit more money than others, but it does include some media, so it's a fair value still. One piece of advice is you do need to use some media in these bottom cups, even if you aren't a fan of doing so. It's needed to help anchor down the filter. The included suction cups do a good job of securing the filter, so you could get away with not filling the cups with media, but why not ? I used some extra ceramic media I had, but the included ceramic balls are a good media, and will add a bit more effectiveness to the filter overall.

Good for planted aquarium
The sponges help to catch the smallest debris to keep your tubes and pump from getting clogged. Also good for tanks with small fish or fry. Very quiet with good circulation.
