Good, but not what I thought it was going to be...
I bought this book bc I thought it was going to be specific stories & experiences of a nurse who worked at a methadone clinic. Instead it was more of an overview of methadone, how it works, how it is dispensed at the clinic, clinic protocol, and addict behavior. I would recommend this book to family members of those who are attending or are going to attend a clinic as it explains how the nursing staff monitor your dose, how a dose works in your body(includes diagram), and how important it is to get up to the right dose. I have 5 stars bc even though it wasn't what I expected from reading the title, it was still very informative & well written.

No secrets here
If you happen to be a methadone patient, then there are no secrets in this book. It is however a good book for anyone wanting to know different aspects of methadone. It's not actually a book but an 8 1/2 x 11 stapled booklet. It was overall a good read.

Misleading, more of a couple pages magazine than a book
Very disappointed in this book it was only a couple pages as I expected an actual book to read.

It's ok.
It's not what all methadone is about I should know I've been on methadone for 4 years now, plus a time before now, it's just on the outside of things....

Real scholars, scientists and professionals put their name on their work...
There are no dark secrets to methadone treatment. It is one of the most heavily regulated medical treatments in the Uniteed States-and in other, more enlightened countries, the gold standard of treatment for chronic opiate addiction. I'm a nurse. But I am also a recovered junkie and methadone patient. If you want to learn about methadone, call a clinic and ask a professional willing to give you their name
