On the Line (A Line Cook Romance)

Ozzy & James Forever 🫶
I have never wanted 2 characters to come to life more than I did with Ozzy & James. Their story is a mix of opposites attract, forbidden love, romance in the workplace, friends with benefits but they both secretly want more and 2 people who accept each other for who they are. Ozzy is a line cook with a hard up bringing, he’s a bit self destructive, laid back and on the exterior a bit of a playboy but underneath it all a caring, sweet and deep person. James comes from a wealthy family and finds herself waitressing to support herself after her family cuts ties financially with her for following her dreams of being an artist. She’s sweet and a bit of a fish out of water in the industry but finds her footing and herself throughout the story. Their relationship grows so beautifully throughout the book, Loud tells their story through work and social settings, intimate moments and takes you an amazing ride through the love of food. These two stole my heart, they were funny, sexy, light hearted but serious, relatable and a joy to read about. I found myself relating to so many scenes and moments throughout this read. If you’re looking for a well rounded read with great character background and development, banter & humor, smexy spice but depth within the book and relatable characters and scenes you’ll find it in On The Line and in Jimbo & Salad Boy!

Have had this on my tbr for a hot min, and my friend bought it for me for my bday. This book definitely dives into the world of dining and the service side. Ozzy is a line cook with moves in the kitchen and out. James is a rich girl barking out on her own without funds to pursue her dream of art that her family doesn't support. She ends up as a server at Orso, a nice restaurant, and immediately, the tension and sparks fly.Now James has an Uber rich, spoiled a hole of a boyfriend thar unfortunately she has stayed with through major abuse and sa. The longer she's away from her previous life, the more she realizes what a dumpster fire her old life was and her boyfriend and what happened to her.Ozzy has another set of issued oldest of 4 of a junkie mom and dad he has a lot on his shoulders, but being around James gives him peace. The flirting is so good, and now I will never look at a snickers the same. This was super face paced, and I loved how he felt so hard for her.Great book. I was super surprised at some of the smut scenes, especially the one at the end. Very good, I'm not sure why. I just felt something was missing.I just wasn't obessed with it, but still so so good.

Complete Perfection
♾️⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️What to expect:🍫 He falls first🍫 Reformed playboy🍫 Opposite sides of the tracks🍫 Friends with benefits🍫 Line cook/server🍫 Restaurant culture🍫 Secret relationship🍫 Workplace romance🍫 Spicyyy 🌶️🥵🍫 Found family🍫 Recreational drugs and alcohol🍫 Toxic AF Exes🍫 And more! Read the trigger warnings as always, your mental health matters and reading is meant to be fun!Calling it, this is quite possibly going to be my favorite contemporary for 2024. I don't pick favorites, I can never narrow it down, LIKE EVER BUT HERE WE ARE. It's been almost 3 days since I finished and I have gone back and reread parts multiple times, I'm pretty sure 75% of my file is highlighted, AND I've tried starting 2 other books and have zero interest because ITS NOT OZZY. MA'AM WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME?! 🤣😭 I don't even know how to formulate words to write a review for this because it's so completely perfect. Naomi Loud is already a smut writing queen so why I was surprised that this was superior is beyond me 🤣🥵I cried with James and her big emotions. I empathized with her as she learned a whole new way of life. I laughed at so many restaurant moments that only restaurant workers could understand. I was sweating more times than I can count. Ozzy is literally my dream book boyfriend and I can't get enough. He falls first and is a complete puppy for James. I 👏🏼 am 👏🏼 here 👏🏼 for 👏🏼 it 👏🏼 This book is angsty, gritty, emotional, funny, spicy and so much more. Just go read it. K? K!

well written with just some things that drove me crazy
Why does fmc have a very male name? Snorting coke in passing? Mentioning Grape and SA in passing? At times i felt like someone watched The Bear and wrote a spicy fanfic based on the show. Don’t get me wrong, i most probably will read more by naomi loud because IT WAS WELL WRITTEN i just could not vibe with the story as much as i wanted to. I read to the end to see if any answers or resolutions to the above mentioned questions were provided. They were not.

Snickers Bars & Art!
This books deserves more than 5 stars! It’s not just a romance but a life/love story. The characters are so well written that they feel 3D, the little nuances noting facial expressions & settings helps to create a fully immersive story for readers. This may be fiction but it certainly reads like reality, almost like you are the characters best friends. Also I will never be able to look at a snickers bar the same again 🌶🌶🌶🌶 & I’m definitely going to try some of the recipes!

Unexpected and Emotional
Umm…what?! I went into this expecting a smutty little romance set in a restaurant. And yes, that was delivered, but it also had so much depth and heart.Ultimately this is a story of two people overcoming their notions of themselves and the worlds that they grew up in to find happiness and love with each other. It was glorious smut, beautiful revelations, character growth, and some truly memorable moments.I can tell this book is going to stay in my mind for a looooong time.Check TWs people!🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5

I worked in restaurants for more than 10 years , and the way the intensity, the bonds that you create while working is so well depicted in this book (I know it fiction , but it’s really how it it’s IRL) .This was my favourite read this year , the story , their growth , it was so so addicting and amazing ! And the 🌶️🌶️ was so gooooood , I loved it so much

Trust me when I say you want to read this book. It was amazing. Perfect. Spicy and funny and emotional. James, my beautiful crying, emotional angel. She’s come a long way by the end of this book, the character development is perfection. She is no longer a pushover and she knows what she wants, both in her love life and in the bedroom. I love a good woman-finds-her-voice story and this was it. Ozzy, phew that man is unreal. He cooks for her. He challenges her. He is perfect for her. And he is head over heels for her from the beginning and I just LOVE a simp. I was kicking my feet the whole damn time. There are so many cute moments where I laughed out loud, but the real star of the show is the spice. Holy hell it was insane. So many kinks and all done to perfection. This is Naomi’s hottest book yet, trust me on this.
