Aftermaster Pro

This product is the game changer that I've been waiting for to fix my TV audio. I hated having to constantly adjust the volume on my TV's. I have spent a ton of money on my main TV audio system but it didn't fix any of the underlying sound like the Aftermaster box does. I can finally hear what people are saying in most TV shows and movies and everything else is MUCH clearer and fuller. I now run my TV volume at 42/100 instead of 80/100. The difference is really dramatic. One negative is that I had to fiddle a lot with my TV to figure out that it works best when I turn off the SRS, Clear Voice and Dolby settings on my TV. They should tell you that in the instructions. Otherwise it's fantastic. I ordered two more.

I bought the Aftermaster Pro for my in-laws who always seemed to watch TV at full volume. Now, their TV is at a much lower volume, and it is SO much more enjoyable to watch TV with them or even to carry on a conversation in their house while the TV is on. The sound quality is better, too. I highly recommend the Aftermaster Pro! Not only has it improved the sound on their TV, it has improved the time we spend with my in-laws!

HDMI ONLY - While this unit does support 2 HDMI inputs (to an HDMI output), it does not support the audio return channel from a TV to a receiver. If you're using the apps on your new 4K TV to watch Netflix, Prime, Youtube or other channels, while connected to your receiver via ARC (Audio Return Channel), this unit will not work.I called Aftermaster Support and they told me that the only solution was to purchase a Roku or Amazon Fire stick and connect it to their HDMI ports in order to get the Aftermaster Pro to work. I don't want or need another device at this point as I like Sony's apps on my XBR75X900E TV (I also use a TiVo). Amazon agreed to a return and that's exactly what I did. Too bad......this device seemed to be the answer to my audio issues.Aftermaster should make this clear in their description of the unit on both their website and on Amazon.

It certainly wasn't a "drastic" improvement, but it really does improve the spoken track. We have a Samsung w/ a smart hub - so, Dish Hopper to the small Samsung "smart hub", then from the smart hub to this appliance and then from this to the Samsung sound bar. Worked right away; you turn it off and on, and it's very noticeable - the words are just clearer and louder relative to everything else. I think the biggest improvement is at low volume - w/ our sound bar, at level 7 or 8, I had a very hard time hearing the words. At 12, no problem - but then everything is loud, so at night, someone's trying to sleep, that's too loud, so you turn it down to 7 or 8 - but then you can hardly hear the words. With this, I can still hear the words well at a lower volume.

There is definitely an improvement in fidelity and clarity of sound. This device does amplify sound and manages to keep commercials at an even volume. We love the sound improvement. Set up was fairly straight forward on one set, but really involved on another -- not sure why. My only complaint is that the cords are way, way too short. It forces you to place the device near the tv and if your box is not close enough, it is impossible to connect. The cords need to be at least another foot long.

I had some concerns getting the sound to come from our LG OLED set with an addition sound bar. I put it on another similar set and it worked fine so I called support and they were very courteous and helpful. I still could not resolve my concerns so I read the manual again and went into the cable box and changed the setting to stereo from surround and all is fine. John in support had already told me that ARC in HDMI would not work so keep that in mind.This does just as they advertise and is worth the money by far. Most folks will just plug and play too.

Quick and easy installation. I could immediately hear the dialogue better and the sound effects were in the “background”. Subsequently, I was able to reduce the overall volume of the system.

Product works well! It is my second unit BOTH my brother and I had our first ones stop working after 1 1/2 yrs. , so we bought another one ! We sure hope these last longer ?
