Simple, effective water alarm
Very compact and simple water alarm. We put it in our hi-rise's air conditioning closet to alert us if the condensate drain is leaking, a common problem in older buildings. Several units and hallways have been damaged due to this, and even a device that automatically shuts off the water supply main will not prevent A/C water damage, as it is a separate system. We placed the main unit just behind the return air vent so it is completely invisible but very audible. We figure if we're home and the alarm goes off we can take care of it, and if we're gone, our security system picks up the audio alarm and will alert us as a "loud noise" alarm and we can have building maintenance take care of it. Sensitivity is good, we tested it with a slight amount of water under the A/C unit and confirmed that the alarm was loud enough for the security microphone to detect. Nice product..

DO NOT BUY! Unit lasted 8 months and now I can't contact the company for their lifetime warranty.
This unit didn't last 8 months. And the 3-year battery life only lasted 4 months. I replaced their generic battery with a fresh name brand battery, but alas, it only lasted 4 months as well. After placing the 3rd battery in this unit in an 8 month period, I heard static coming from the speaker so I tested it by placing metal across the contacts to make it alarm, but it wouldn't alarm. So no problem, this unit comes with a FULL Lifetime 100% Satisfaction Guarantee! I quickly sent an email off to the company for information on how to return it, uh-oh, another problem. My email cannot be delivered because there was a problem with the recipient's email system. Now what? Buyer beware, not a reputable company to do business with. Amazon should drop them for not honouring their word.

Works like a charm
Works great. very easy installation .just put the battery and let's start protection. sensor and unit can be in a same place and no need to separate those or you can put sensor 5 feet away from unit in a cabinet and install the unit out of the cabinet for louder alarm. 3 years battery life and units lifetime guarantee are another great thing about this item. Also the alarm sound is enough loud to hear from whole house.

Did not work for long.
It worked fine for about 6-9 months. Then it started making the low battery alarm all the time, even when the battery was brand new. I didn't care, because I figured it was still working--just beeping every minute or two. (We don't spend a lot of time in the basement, so the beeping wasn't really bothering anyone.) We had a minor flood a week ago. I was surprised that the alarm didn't go off. I just put a brand new battery in it and it still wont go off when it touches water. I connect each end with copper pipe, and the alarm still won't sound. My guess is it hasn't been working since that first 6-9 months. Not too impressive for an electronics product that doesn't even get handled except to change the battery every now and then.

Does okay, but sensor has limitations
Pros:- Worked correctly when tested right out of the box- Comes with its first 9volt battery- Has low battery alarm- Includes mounting hardware for hanging the main unit on the wall so it doesn't get wetCons:- The sensor must be placed exactly where the water will be. I'm able to do this under the kitchen sink because a previous leak caused the cabinet floor to sag, making a low spot. But if we had not had a previous leak, it would be difficult to ensure the sensor were in just the right place. For our water heater, I think I'm going to buy a sensor that will go off if any section of the wire gets wet, which is much more likely to alert us promptly.- The sensor is light weight and the wire running to the main unit tends to tip the sensor so that the contacts aren't actually face down. The upshot is that it wouldn't alert until the water built up by 1/2" - 1". I ended up stacking a bunch of pennies and taping them to the top of the sensor to give it enough weight to stay upright.

Loud & easy to use but a word of advice......
This is loud which is great and it's easy to use. Also like the low battery alert. The wire lead is a foot or so shorter than our original flood alarm (we're not electricians so were not going to try to lengthen the wire) but we use a baby monitor so we can hear the alarm on the upper levels of our house. The solder points that connect the wire to the bottom panel/contact points are a little flimsy and may break off over time. We made sure the wires/solder points were in the proper position and then used 100% clear weatherproof silicone to form a protective "bubble/ball" over the solder points to protect them from damage. The silicone keeps the wires in place to prevent them from moving and breaking off. It did not affect the alarm in anyway. Would recommend this process if you use the extension wire of the alarm. We bought 2 to replace flood alarms that we've had for over 19 years. Hope these last just as long. Would buy it again!

Works fine. Seems like a responsible company.
I tested the alarm before using it and it worked fine. Looking at some of the reviews, there are a few that don't. However, every bad or mediocre review has a response from the manufacturer. That shows that they are committed to improvement.I like the low battery alarm as it's doubtful I'm always going to remember when it's time to change a battery on an item like this that quickly becomes out of sight, out of mind. The only modification I made was to drill a small hole in the middle of the plastic sensor platform. That enabled me to secure it well to the sump pump pipe with a zip tie. That way I didn't need to worry about the sensor moving. I wouldn't use tape to secure the sensor in a damp area.
