Disappointing
Disappointing. I left the magnets exposed so you could see why the pendulum was moving that way. I am adding a video, but I haven't done this before.I will try to upload the video again. Ok, it would be fascinating for a small child.

Great demo for class
I love this tool for physics. It allows me to demonstrate chaotic motion. I usually have students build a larger scale one based on this one as an activity.

Interesting toy
The Chaotic Pendulum is an interesting toy. It moves in strange and wonderful ways depending on how the magnets are placed. My only complaint is that it is all made of cardboard, so it is a bit flimsy.
