Get Salty
Have 5 or six other Spyderco knives but this my first pm2. Initially ordered a pm2 in cpm s45vn but it arrived with a chip in the blade and dlc came off just with rubbing it so it is on it’s on the way back!Saw this version of the pm2 Salt and decided to give it a try. Arrived quickly as usual and nicely ptotected by styrofoam. Nothing fancy in Spyderco packaging….. knife in plastic rapper, instruction/care manual, and small spyderco sticker. The knife itself is a real looker with the black textured handle scales and classic spydie shaped 3.4 inch blade in black magnacut. The handle is quite comfortable and feels good in all grips and the texture makes it very grippy and feels very secure in hand and not likely to slip even in wet conditions. No sharp edges except the blade. Of course it came literally hair shaving sharp ( yes, I tried ). The blade action is good right out of the box but I expect it to improve even more with use and a few drops of pivot lube. Blade is perfectly centered and the compression lock is rock solid. Absolutely no blade play in any direction. The four position pocket clip allows for various carry options. I changed the clip to a deep carry one and it just about disappears in the pocket. Along with its light weight you will hardly know it’s thereThis is going right to an edc and I expect it will be in my rotation for years to come.

simple, strong, sharp, long lasting etc.
This spyderco has been my EDC for box opening, box cutting, paper cutting, rope cutting for 3 months....It still shreds paper like butter and that's guaranteed. best ergonomics, best cutting angle for almost all scenarios, shape is amazing. Clip is a bit tight but I prefer deep pocket clips so I bought one and replaced it and yes you can choose which side you want it on.

Spyderco knocks it out of the park!
Right out of the box this knife is so impressive. The scales look amazing and feel even better, they have a nice grip yet they will not dig into your hand. The finish on the blade really stands out and arrived with a scary sharp edge. The action on this knife is so smooth when you open it, there is no blade play at all. When you close it, the blade drops free right down the middle. This is my second PM2, the first one I bought is the Crucarta version and it has been my EDC, this PM2 is a little lighter and I can’t wait to see how the Magnacut holds up over time.

The new Para Military 2 with Magnacut, what's not to like.
Yeah, took the leap, bought the knife, and I'm happy I did. The scales on Spyderco's new Para Military 2 are so well done that I think I could open my hand and the knife would stay put while I'm using it, they are the best made I've gotten yet from Spyderco. The CPM Magnacut steel is close to the best for almost any situation you can put a knife in. It kills it in the CATRA edge retention test, it's hardness/corrosion resistance is close to the best in both, with a hardness close to HRC 63-64, and it's pretty easy to sharpen back up if you ever do dull the edge. Another great thing about the CPM Magnacut steel is that you probably already have what you need to put an edge on it, because you really don't need any special tools or sharpening kits, just normal whetstones or water stones of good quality will work.So if you really use a knife, this Para Mil 3 is going to be around for a long time with regular care, saving you money in the long run. I'm happy to have it with my other Spydercos.Yes I'm a knife guy, but I use every knife I own, for for whatever I'm going to be doing, according to which steel handles the task the best, and with the new Para Military 2 with Magnacut, it got a whole lot easier to pick the right knife fast. Thanks Spyderco for another great offering that will last for years to come.

Great knife
I really love this knife. I must say it is absolutely crazy sharp out of the box and it’s magnacut steel. Awesome. I like that it’s all black. I don’t care for the texture of the handle. I have plans to change out the scales to carbon fiber. The blade is well centered. This will be my EDC knife going forward. I identified this as the knife I wanted while surfing some online knife shops. However all of the online shops I checked were out of stock. So I was very happy to find it On Amazon.

Awsome EDC.
I am a very big fan of Spyderco knives. Their quality of materials, workmanship, and designs are “Off the Charts”. Spyderco is one of very few knife manufacturers that use new and exotic blade steels. Spyderco goes through a lot of heat treatments with new blade steels in order to perfect them. This is why Spyderco is such a leading brand in the knife industry.
