Worship Songs For Ukulele

Some great songs in a great format
I bought this book for my dad who enjoys singing worship songs on the ukulele. This book didn't disappoint! What stands out about this book is that the editor clearly took care to arrange the songs in an easy-to-follow layout. So many times, with other books, I have seen the first verse laid out nicely, only to see the remaining verses placed at the end of the music, requiring you to flip back-and-forth in order to both sing the words and play the chords. I'm glad to say there's none of that here. (Granted, not all the songs fit on two pages, which requires you to flip pages every once in a while. However, the words and verses are always found together with their chords.)The least positive thing I can say about this book is that there are only twenty-five songs on it, making it a rather small book of songs. (You can read the list of songs on the back cover.) And if you're not familiar with a song, it won't pop out at you as being a great song. However, you can't really fault a book for its songs; you either know them or you don't. (And if you really want to become familiar with a song, these days you can look them up on YouTube.)On the other hand, there are many positive things to say about this book:* The tabs/fingerings are shown with every chord, which is handy when you come across uncommon chords like Dsus4.* The pitch of the first note of each song is included, so even if you can't read sheet music, you can still play the first note to get yourself in the proper key.* As I stated above, there are no verses that are clumped at the end of the song lyrics. As a result, you won't be forced to flip back and forth between the beginning and end of a song.* Although there are only twenty-five songs, it includes some great songs, such as: "How Great Is Our God," "More Precious Than Silver," and "Open the Eyes of My Heart."There are no strum patterns included. I don't find this to be a problem, as most songs (whether they are worship songs or not) leave it up to the guitar/ukulele player to decide how to strum.Overall, this is a great book that I recommend to any ukulele player who is interested in playing worship songs.

I like that all the fingerings are visible
Nice selection of songs I appreciate that the songs all have fingerings above the music with the score and notes.

This Book Rocks!
I probably don't do what I'm supposed to with it, but I really wanted to learn some good modern worship songs and maybe get good enough to play with the church band. How awesome would that be, a uke with some electric guitars, a couple acoustic guitars, and a bass, right? But I just downloaded all the songs off of itunes and have my little ipod playing while I'm rockin out and get to feel like I'm really killing it! And it's good christian music, I'm praising God, and my wife doesn't look at me like I'm totally lame anymore, so I guess I'm getting better too. My only criticism here is that some of the songs aren't in the same key as what I downloaded....that probably means I need to pony up another $1 and download the version that's in the key the book is, but for now I just turn up to volume on my ipod so I can't hear that I'm off-key. That seems to be the cheaper solution for now...

My favorite uke book!
This is a great collection of popular worship songs that are accessible to beginner uke players. I am a beginner and I was able to play more than half these songs the first day I downloaded the book. The tabs make it even easier. I have both the print and the kindle version of this book. Here is a hint if you have trouble with the last song on the kindle version. The publisher asks for a review of the book in the noodle of the last song. That's quite annoying when you are happily strumming away and can't get to the last two pages. I talked to Amazon and they said if you review the book or turn off WiFi, the pop-up hours away. I opted to review the book, so now you know.Happy strumming.

Plenty of church favorites with easy chords!
The chord arrangements of these songs are excellent. I'm a relative beginner player, and I've had no problem with the songs I've tried. The notes and lyrics are included on the staff, in addition to the chords for each song. Strum patterns are not included, but I've been using this book for several months now to lead a small children's worship group at my church and they all enjoy the songs very much. Favorites are Come, Now Is the Time to Worship, Step by Step, and Lord I Lift Your Name on High.

Awesome!
I just started playing uke, and I was at a loss for music to play. My main goal was to be more involved with my church's worship team, but I'm not really equipped to transpose our hymnal into playable ukelele music. This book has many songs that we are familiar with and some new ones for us, too. Also, all the songs are in the key that we sing them in, and with practice, even a beginner can play most of them. A few are more challenging, but I'll keep working on them. Our lead guitarist even wants one, and he usually just pulls music out of his head. I'm so glad I have something useful to play! I don't think I'd stick to it if I only had chord charts and practice scales!

Great assortment of songs
Great assortment of songs. The only thing it's missing is possible strum patterns(which is very helpful for a beginning like me) I guess you can get that by watching an instructional video or cover on YTube, but that defeats the purpose of buying this book. The chords are "out there". This book is just nice font and spacing and it's all bound.

Taught myself to play the uke with this book!
Because I do have some knowledge of reading notes and I had a vague idea of how to read the fret chords, I taught myself to play using this book in an hour. One important thing to note is that I bought an app that helps you tune your ukulele. This was KEY in learning to play. It might have taken someone with less music theory experience a little longer but it really depends on each person. Anyways, this book contains A LOT of songs that are on the older but very classic contemporary Christian music. If you know the songs, it'll be even easier to learn to play because you know how the song should sound.

Good Book to Learn Uke Tunes
Having got the Ukulele bug, the thing is to learn some tunes to play: this is surprisingly difficult, I find, having purchased quite a few ukulele song-books and none that I can whole-heartedly recommend. Popular tunes can be quite difficult, Beatles songs, particularly and many have a lot of chord changes and difficult ones at that. This book has some quite simple songs, or hymns, if you prefer and if you know the tune and can copy the rhythm, I have found these relatively easy to play. I should point out that I am self-taught and have never played an instrument before: taking it up at 60 is certainly a challenge. However, persistence is the key and I have found that I have been more successful with the songs in this book than any other I have bought, so far. Having found some that I can play, I practice more and am getting better as a consequence; not enough to start a band, but it keeps me happy, which is the whole idea of playing the ukulele in the first place.

Great worship song book!
I love this worship song book. I wish it had strumming patterns included that would support a beginner. I love how it has the lyrics and the chords so it can be used quiet easily.

I have found this to be an excellent resource with well known worship songs and clear chord tabs for ukulele. Even though I'm a beginner I can play every song in the book. So I'm super happy with this one and hope the publisher puts out more. As I've grown in my playing skills I've also been able to worship at the same time!

A Good Selection
An overall good worship book but with the frustration that some of the songs are laid over the page which makes it difficult to continue the song without stopping. A better layout would serve the purposes of the book better.
