Works well but takes practice
Took a gamble on buying this as most of the reviews are negative, stating they couldn't get it to work. It's a bit difficult to get it started, but it works just as advertised once you figure it out. Seems like a lot of operator error on the reviews. There are a lot of youtube videos (search for "embellish knit" videos) showing exactly how to start and work it. Once I got it working you can literally just crank the handle and icord comes out. There are a few restrictions and things to watch out for and keep in mind but it is all explained in the book that comes with (hopefully). There was supposed to be a practice ball of yarn included but I did not receive one.Thinner yarn or thread works better. The instructions say don't use worsted weight but really the restriction is what can easily fit into the small hooks so I think that's a better indication. The instructions also say never turn it backwards, but really you could if you needed to, it will just undo and tangle your work, not damage the machine. You have to keep weight on the tail end using the weighted clip it comes with and leave it hanging free to spin. The amount of weight on the clip seemed just fine, no extra needed. It does help at the beginning to give the weight a little tug as you go. The working yarn has to be tension free at all times and kept from getting caught in the crank or wrapped around the project coming out. I moved the clip up as I worked to keep it from swinging and being obnoxious as it will spin around as the hooks move. I also used a big hair clip to gather up my work right below the weighted clip.Overall, it makes nice small icords with minimal hassle once you get started. Takes patience and practice.

A bit hard to get started, but well-worth it once you have it down.
I was honestly surprised at how well this worked. My only complaint is that the instructions were VERY hard to follow. I went on YouTube and it helped a lot more than the written instructions. It was very difficult to get started - especially using worsted yarn. At first, it was very tricky. The yarn either kept wrapping around the machine, it wouldn't come out at the bottom, everything would tangle, etc. However, the trick to using worsted yarn is to use a HEAVY WEIGHT at the bottom instead of the clip it came with. The heavy weight pulls down the yarn so when you're cranking it, it can slide off the hooks easily (or make sure to constantly and consistently pull it down.) Once I tried this, it started working perfectly.Start out slow and have some patience. It really does work (just try not to use really big/thick yarn). Its just a bit hard to get started.

Does the job
Don't expect too much from the weaver. It does the job.Instructions are clear but you can find videos on the Internet that will go in detail on the how...On the instructions manual, a little ball of yarn and a tapestry needle should be inc.uded.Well, didn't have those materials in the box.You can use it only for fine yarn, baby yarn or fingering thread. No more than a size 3.To avoid any tangles and frustration, rotate the handle pretty slowly. In 1 mn, I had a foot long I cord. I make I cord with remnants of yarn so I can crochet rugs or mats.A little patience and practice can go a long way.Not the best but not the worst either.

Works fine as long as you're careful
Works fine as long as you're careful and don't go crazy trying to crank it too fast. Use caution if you have to set it down for any reason- the loops can pop off and it's hard to get things back where they need to be without starting over. I hold the tension on the ball-end yarn taught when I need to adjust everything else, ball up the icord, or move the weight clip to prevent this issue. Mine arrived used and missing the sample yarn and needle but I needed to use it to finish a time-sensitive project so I dealt with it.

Good cord maker
I was unable to use worsted weight yarn as the hooks kept getting caught in the middle of the thread. It does size 3 yarn very well and does a good job. At first the handle was a little stiff to turn, but quickly loosened up and I did not have a problem. It really is a handy little gadget and I know I will be using it a lot.

I cord weaver
The item works as it should even though it was obviously returned/used by someone else then resold. There were items missing from the box( that are not needed for use) and there was no packing material in the box. I will keep it, but didnt know that it was used. Maybe I missed it in the listing.

A little trouble.
I had a little bit of trouble with Worsted weight yarn. I will be trying fine yarn when I receive it. Made this Bow with Mandala Sparkle yarn 3 weight.

Not the best!
I purchased the Mill for my Mum's birthday, a few weeks in advance so I wouldn't forget what she'd asked for. If I hadn't of done this, I could have returned the item but I missed the cut off date. The leaflet inside suggested there should have been yarn and a needle included in the kit, but these were missing. Also, 2 of the hinges on the needles were not working, so it was impossible to use the machine and everything ended up in a big knot! Big disappointment for my Mum, but a replacement has been ordered.

Does not work and not value for money.go for the slightly dearer gadget!
Despite following the enclosed instructions this item did not work at all and I am returning it to Amazon, also a length of yarn and a tapestry needle that should have been with the device were missing, the box had been resealed which made me think that the item had been returned previously.Very disappointed.

Rubbish Item
This product does not work, and things that should have been in the box ( yarn and a tapestry needle) were missing. Don't waste your money or time with this.
