Although my wife had to return the paddle she bought due to the weight being too heavy for her, the company Racquet Central was very accommodating and provided a prompt full refund even though she tried to paddle. She was aware from a friend of how well the paddle played. Had it been lighter like her friend's, she would have definitely kept it. She said, it's a great paddle otherwise if 8.3 oz is not too heavy for you. She will definitely buy from them again if the need arises. Really recommend this vendor of Amazon. Great customer service.

Gamma, have done it again, big sweet spot, light enough for quick hands and have not lost the power with going to a 13mm core.

I just purchased my 2nd Obsidian 16mm. It's a nice looking paddle and does everything well. If you're looking for a power this isn't the one for you but for me it has enough power and great feel and touch.

I am a new pickleball player. Me being me jumped right in and got what I thought was the best.I had a cheap one that I had never used and I wasn't really sure which one would be best because I was new. I went to class, I showed my instructor the paddles, and she immediately said "use the GAMMA!". I did, it's not like I played well because I was (and am) new, but it was fine.One of my classmates was having difficulty and wasn't enjoying her paddle so I asked if she would like to try this one. We traded for about 5-10 minutes. Leaving the GAMMA to go to a different paddle was horrible and she realized that a quality paddle can make a ton of difference.I don't know a lot of the specifics as to what makes a good pickleball paddle, I guess that comes with experience, but I am thrilled with this one!

I've played more than 2 dozen games with this paddle and it is one of my two favorite paddles. In particular, this is the one that I can always count on whether I'm having a good or bad day to give me the most consistent play.Outstanding spin, control and power, the understated aesthetics and clean, white accessories and graphics make this both an attractive and high performance paddle.I also received (separately, it is not included with the paddle), the weighted cap kit, allowing easy placement and quick swapping ability of weight in the handle. I've played around with all four options (stock + the three different weighted caps) and found that I swap between stock and the lightest weight cap). It's quick and easy to swap and places the weight to reduce swingweight while increasing overall weight and power of the paddle.This is a fantastic paddle. It would be nice if it included a headcover. I'd prefer they increase the price by $25 and include the weighted caps and a headcover, but even without, this is a great paddle at a fair price. I got the 13mm, but am considering adding the 10mm to my collection.Overall, this is a top-shelf paddle and I highly recommend.

I am just a beginner so I don't know a whole lot about pickleball yet. I got this paddle on a recommendation and so far it is working out great though I may get a slightly heavier paddle sometime in the future. I am amazed at the spin this puts on the ball. I have heard that carbon fiber is the best material for these paddles. I can't be happier about my purchase. It is great for beginners and I am sure it is even better for experienced players.

This paddle came as of I went to a physical sporting store and bought it from a rack display it came with a narrow cardboard information wrap and in a thin foam sleeve. No fancy box to throw in the trash, no accessories or extra grip wrap, and no protective zippered cover. Honestly, that was kind of disappointing because I would've loved to have a Gamma protective cover. However, I was also a bit glad to knows that the cost of making these paddles is fully invested in the paddles themselves and not in add-ons which aren't necessary, such as fancy boxes.The paddle itself is awesome. I haven't had a paddle with this hybrid style head shape. While I'm playing I'm noticing a shift in the sweet spot from my other paddles. The sweet spot isn't centered but more towards the head. Actually, it seems to be exactly where the logo is! When I realized this, I grabbed up my other Gamma and, yup, same logo but the logo is more centered and, yup again, just over the sweet spot. That's cool! I like the sweet spot better on the hybrid style Gamma Obsidian because that's where I tend to hit the ball. I'm always underreaching. The handle, long enough for double handed use (which I don't need), is very comfortable and has a moisture wicking design that keep the grip string while channeling moisture through the holes to an absorbent underlayer. This is an impressive paddle!
