Better than expected
I was requested by Tonton Security to give some technical input on this camera to determine why some customers where having issues getting the camera to work. It turned out to be a reset button simply was not labeled clearly. I was expecting to find the button on the camera, but it is actually at the end of the cable that also connects to power. There is a litter white cap that needs to be popped off and the reset button is right there. Once that was figured out the camera was easy to install and get going with the associated iSmeye app.I suggested to Tonton that the reset button be better labeled and also provide an instruction manual that was larger and easier to read. Other than that, I didn’t have much trouble using the Cloud Camera. In fact the camera is pretty intuitive to use.I set the camera up on my front porch and learned a few things.First, I wasn’t a fan of the really wide fish eye view. However, I never really used a camera that did this and actually after using it, I figured out that this works well to get the expected motion in a wide angle, but when people are standing close to my front door, it was easier to get them in view. I have attached some pictures and some video from the camera. One note about my images and video, I mounted the camera a bit high. I will probably remount the camera and either lower the camera a bit or move it to the side. It’s a trade-off to get a good view of the person at the front door, but also discourage anyone from messing with the camera.Next, the app on the camera connects really fast to the to the camera stream. I have used a couple of other security systems and that has been a weak point for those systems. The apps connect slowly or have trouble connecting. The Tonton Cloud camera connects fast and as far as I can recall it has connected every time. Further, I have an older cell phone. It is a nearly 5-year-old Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and this app works perfectly well on this phone. You can snap a picture of the live or recorded video as well as record the live or previous video stream. That is how I capture the images I have attached to this review. And that’s when I learned the camera has two-way audio using the cell phone app and it works surprising well. I have only had the opportunity to test with family and a confused neighborhood cat. (I kept calling the cat as it was leaving my porch and it turned around trying to figure out where the voice was coming from.) Humor aside, I was impressed how good the audio is. Clear and loud enough to overcome neighbor street noise. As I mentioned, I haven’t tested on an actual person other than my family, I do think a delivery person or whoever would not have any trouble understanding me talking, nor me hearing them.Further, this feature was easy to figure out. I didn’t read the manual. Partly because I’m lazy, but also I wanted to see how intuitive it was to use the camera and it’s features. My last point is the ability to look at recorded video. The camera come with 30 days of free cloud storage. After that you gotta pay for that service. I know the camera comes with a slot for an SD memory card, but I didn’t test that. So I don’t know how well that works. All that said, this is another well implemented feature. In the cell phone app while watching the video stream, there is a scroll bar at the bottom of the screen. It is very easy to swipe to the right to roll the scroll bar to go back in time. And there are vertical bars either light blue or orange. These vertical bars indicate the camera sensed motion. Again, I haven’t read the manual, but I think the orange bar indicates a strong hit for motion and the blue bar is a less strong alert. And this was an easy feature to figure out. I really like this graphic view of the activity over time. The scroll is a little sensitive, but playing with it is easy to get to the video of the activity.Another thing I like about this camera is when compared with another security system I have uses an NVR to record all the cameras video, this camera does a much better job about not reporting false alerts. To conclude, I was asked for my technical input on the camera, but after playing with it, I am pleasantly surprised and quite impressed with this camera. If someone got one or two cameras these are excellent cameras.

Good camera--unacceptable utilities for monitoring
Want to use this camera with SD card recording only. Will not pay a monthly fee for cloud recording PER CAMERA--which is not stated clearly. After the initial 30 days free period--used SD card for recording. The biggest negative is the email alerts DO NOT work and events are NOT TRIGGERED. Have it set for motion detection and receive NO emails. The status bar to look at the recorded video is NOT on EYEPLUSIOT website on the PC--the status bar for recorded video occasionally works on phone ISMEYE app. Very dissatisfied with functionality even though camera is a nice one. It doesn't matter how nice the camera is, if you can't get the basic functions to work it is pretty useless. It seems they try to force the paid cloud recording subscription--but even then the motion detection email alerts did NOT work.

Kept on disconnecting from Wi-Fi.
This is a well built camera with an amazing 1080p image. The issue I had was that it kept on disconnecting from my Wi-Fi router. The audio is crystal clear. I even installed a Wi-Fi extender on the first floor but the camera still disconnected. I returned both cameras. You can also connect them directly into your router but I didn't want to run 60 feet of cable around a two story house. If the seller fixes the antenna issue this would be an amazing camera. This is the image from the front door.

Not bad. A little picky.
One of the cameras would not connect quickly and did so after I left it for the evening and check on it the next day. I was hoping, this being an IP camera that it would work with open source iSpy DVR app. I have not gotten that figured out yet. It took me a while to figure out that the reset button is on the pigtail coming from the camera.I have the camera working fairly well and the moment and will update my review again after some time working with the camera.

Good camera, good price point, frustratingly inept companion app if not paying for cloud service.
I bought this camera needing a good wireless solution with internal storage so that I don't have to contract a cloud service or maintain a central HD drive. I purchased the wide-angle lens version. The camera itself is definitely good for the price point. My initial impression is that it offers clear visuals, strong night vision, good audio, easy setup, auto-adjusts well to lighting, good motion detection; no worries there. There's a "buzzer" feature through the app that basically turns the camera into a motion-activated audio alarm, and I found this to be more annoying than anything else since I have the camera installed in the front of the house where motion is more frequent. I could see the buzzer being slightly less gimmicky if used on an interior camera placement. I did not note a way to program the buzzer for certain times, though one may exist.HOWEVER, be advised, the mobile companion app iSmeye appears to only offer some features to users who subscribe to the cloud service, and I feel that this is not clearly stated anywhere in any available information. My two-star review is not a critique of the camera itself as much as it is the companion software. In particular, I have noticed the following differences when watching video recorded on the internal SD card vs. via the cloud service, which I still currently have access to under the initial 30-day trial:1) Playback bar color-coding is not clearly indicated anywhere. From what I can gather, white = no recording; grey = recording present; and then red vertical bars = motion alert and blue vertical bars = sound alert.2) About those motion and sound alert bars - they're certainly very helpful when scrolling back through the playback timeline to quickly identify and navigate to any motion or sound events recorded. HOWEVER, again not made clear anywhere on any published information, is these red & blue alert identifiers that show in the playback bar only seem to do so if playing video from the cloud monitoring service. When I switch playback to the same video timeframe but from the SD card recording, there are no motion or sound identifiers, which makes searching videos a tedious chore at best.3) Perhaps related to #2's issue - if you go to the event dashboard inside of the iSmeye app, there's a really intuitive and easy-to-use way to watch only the recorded clips where motion and/or sound was recorded. HOWEVER, again there is the same issue that this feature only seems to be available to folks who pay for cloud service, as the events dashboard on the app ONLY WORKS WITH THE CLOUD.4) Perhaps related to #3 – because I have no way to access the videos from the SD card under the app’s Event Dashboard, I subsequently have no way to save the videos to my phone. As best as I can tell, I would have to physically climb a ladder and remove the SD card from the camera to extract videos from it. Again this is something I have no issues with doing under the cloud service trial, but is something which seems impossible to accomplish when recording off the SD card. Conclusion: Good camera, good price point, but frustratingly useless if you don’t plan on paying for the monthly subscription to their cloud service. The app almost seems designed to coax users into paying a monthly subscription for cloud service due to some of the limitations noted. I may wind up returning it for a refund due to the SD-related limitations using the iSmeye app.
