Great item
I ordered for my son. He likes that it’s extendable. He said he likes it.

Versatile! Saves my back!
The media could not be loaded. This thing is so versatile! I do a lot of landscaping so it's handy for more than just snakes! I also use it to pick up trash, sticks, fishing leaves out of drainage holes, etc. I was hesitant about the strength, I've seen poles like this that the snakes just wriggle right out. But the grip on this is STRONG we had friends stick their finger in and they couldn't get it out until I released it. If it can hold onto my friends finger like that I think it'll hold onto a snake pretty well. I was also pleasantly surprised by the construction it's very sturdy aluminum not some cheap flimsy crap. The only issue I had initially was sometimes the jaws wouldn't close or open properly after changing the length of the pole, which was actually user error. There are little holes that you need the pole to click into place when extending or shortening it, once the holes click into the right spot the grabber works great. It was just the tensioner inside adjusting when I extended the pole, so now I just make sure I hear a 'click' and it's good to go. I highly recommend this especially for anyone with a bad back. It works great for picking up cans and trash after a party too!

It’s bigger than we thought.
So far haven’t used it. But it seems like it might work.

works great
bought to catch western diamondbacks around the house and so far its worked well. I've caught 6 this year from new born up to just over 6 feet. if anything i dislike it might be the coating because it feels like i have to squeeze tighter to hold them

The physics are good, the manufacture is TERRIBLE.
Waste of money - RETURNING!1. The lowest position does not work - the grabbing end does not open2. Mid-range - Need hands like sasquatch - I have women sized hands (I am a woman) and even though I do not have a "feeble" grip, I had HUGE trouble reaching both sides of the handle to close3. Mid-range did not pick up the tiniest of sticks. WITH HUGE effort - because of the span of my adult/lady size hands - I managed to close the jaws but could NOT lock the gadget without considerable effort. And I mean, it was a 2 handed exercise.Had I managed to grab "anything", as thin as a sheet of paper (Literally) and closed the latch......... it was another 2 handed exercise to open.NOT the activity you would want to deal with had you had a VERY angry reptile thrashing about at the other end.FOR THE RECORD - with a huge storm just a week ago where five inches of rain fell in less than 12 hours, critters were desperate for higher ground. I do NOT know how "it" got in, but in the middle of my kitchen floor - at 2230 at night - was a 18" long black snake. Without having any humane gadget - at the time - I cussed quietly, threw a teatowel on it and did Riverdance on its biting end until I heard CRUNCH.If I had had this gadget I would have been VERY unhappy. This particular model is so hard to manipulate it would have given the varmint all the time in the world to skitter under the fridge.DO NOT BUY!Returning today and hoping another model is much more effective and effiicientDo NOT BUY if you are in fear of your life with snake in the house.Note: for all the do-gooders out there with "aw - shouldn't have killed it"........ Remember - Just because a snake isn't deemed venomous, the reptile's mouth is full of harmful bacteria. Having a bacterial infection from a snake bite can be just as horrible - and as expensive - to treat.

Worked perfectly
Saw a rather large rattle snake and ran for the snake catcher-stick. I caught it rather easily but made the mistake of using the handle ‘lock’ which opened the claw enough for the snake to get loose. He was VERY angry after getting loose but I caught him again and managed to take it far enough away to be safe for every.

Hope I never need to use it but....
We live in an area with rattle snakes. And I hope we don't ever need to use this but it was recommended by a friend who has used it to catch quit a few snakes already this year.
