This shelving unit isn’t what I’d call beautiful but it does a reasonable job.I chose wood grain laminate shelves with a black frame for a working desk to tidy up some books & stationery.The shelves & frame are both well finished. Putting it together is fiddly if straightforward to understand. It would have been better to provide regular screws that need a screwdriver because the Allen key was a pain to use & I ended up dropping it multiple times because of the awkwardness of holding the shelves in place while turning the key around.The metal frame isn’t very thick so you’re not going to be laying an entire leather bound set of Encyclopedia Britannica on it & the whole look would have been so much nicer if the screws had been black like the frame or had come with plastic screw covers. I wouldn’t be using this in an upmarket kitchen, it’s more of a basic workhorse than a design win for looks.It comes with felt pads for the bottom of the frame to prevent it scratching your furniture but I only have 2 so that’s a bit annoying.I had to laugh at this product description:“No paint is used on this office desk shelf organizer and accessories, so you can stay away from the hazards of formaldehyde and have a healthy working and living environment.”As I wasn’t planning on using this is the forensic lab or the undertakers for embalming purposes I think I’m ok with the comforting news that formaldehyde is nowhere in evidence.I feel it’s a bit on the pricey side for what it is but if it’s what you’re looking for it does what it says & may fit the bill. So far so good for me (despite the annoying silver screws that spoil the look – stuff like that irks me…)

This is a neat and lightweight stand alone shelf unit/organiser.Not the best looking unit, however it is a really good size, not too big or too small.I found it was exactly what I needed to tidy up my office desk giving me more workspace.Easy to assemble.Strong and sturdy.Reasonably priced.

They must have put microscopic items on there promotional picture as this is much smaller than I expected.A bit awkward to put together. I chucked it out

Very simple construction and not difficult to put together. Can be used as two separate stands or a two tier shelving unit.Found these great for space saving on a kitchen worktop but would be fine for home office use as well.Happy with overall quality.

The wood is covered MDF.These are fine for relatively light stuff, but you wouldn't want to store any books printed on glossy paper on them, because these are 'shelf organisers' rather than bookshelves and the shelves flex if you push sufficiently hard on them..It's the sort of thing you pick up in IKEA.. for rather less.

The shelves come flat packed in a small carton. They have steel frame ends which are welded square loops, and two shelves which appear to be simple laminated plywood or chipboard or something similar. The whole assembly is held together with 8 screws and 4 fixing clips, and Allen key is provided for the assembly.The measurements in the advertisement are accurate but the pictures make it seem bigger than it actually is so this is something you might want to check.The finish of the items in the package is very good. The welding is neat and accurate. I found the paint finish on the metalwork to be excellent throughout.The assembly method is to make the top half first, then attach the side clips and bottom half. I found the second part a bit awkward but got there eventually. It is important not to over tighten the screws or they will strip out the pre drilled holes. The supplied Allen key was slightly defective and did not fit the screws very well. On first assembly the unit was slightly out of square and needed to be “persuaded” into the right shape.I have to say that he whole thing is extremely lightweight to the point of being flimsy. However this is not necessarily a bad thing. If you are looking for a neat, elegant and compact shelving unit which comes in a range of colours to suit your existing decor then this will be fine for you, particularly if you only want to put lightweight things on it.I can see other uses for it, for example, using it in a larger shelving unit to double space or a lightweight kitchen tidy. For me the overall feeling is that it is too light and rickety for me to find it useful, but others might. I considered a 3 star rating for this but acknowledge that the unit could be exactly right for some.

Pieces come well packed with all the required screws/ tools to assemble the shelves.The shelves are easy to assemble with the provided screws and allen key.The shelves can either be assembled as separate units or as a stacked unit. When stacking the units can either be screwed together or the clips can be used without being screwed in.The shelves required assembly on a flat surface so that they lie flat.They do wobble a little but if place against the side or back of a cupboard they are more sturdy.
