SKOTZ 402 MagneBlind Magnetic Mini Blinds for Metal Door 25" x 41"

I was on a search for a magnetic rod for my basement door in order to place curtains for our privacy, when I decided to chance it with this buy from Amazon. After reading several great reviews I put in our order. Within a couple of days these blinds were up in our basement and I must say EVERYTHING GREAT other reviewers had to say is TRUE. These shades are affixed to a metal door by very strong and sturdy magnets, not like those cheap "dollar store" type shades. They are beautiful too! We were able to put them up in about 10 minutes, using no tools. I love that they also affix at the bottom to your door. This is very helpful because it does not swing out every time the door is opened.One thing though - in our basement, it was better for us to have actual individual shade "panels" going "upward" instead of the standard "downward". After putting the shade up and stepping outside in the dark with the basement light on, I could see into the basement, even when my husband approached the door. When we put the blinds in the opposite direction "upward" that problem was solved. I could NOT see into the basement, nor could I see my husband as he approached the door. Now if being able to see into the room you are covering does not bother you, then fine, but if you are purchasing this item for privacy, as we were, then putting the blinds "upward" will take care of that minor problem. Since making that minor adjustment there have been no problems with this shade. It has performed flawlessly, never falling down or swinging out. It is perfect and a great buy. P.S. Remember, this shade comes in TWO different lengths (same width) keep that in mind when measuring and ordering.

These blinds lasted for years. One of my cats broke one of the slats. I have purchased several more blinds by other makers and none of them come with the bottom magnets that prevent the blind from flapping all over the place and eventually getting slammed in the door and broken in half. I wish this particular blind was available. I need two of them!

This was placed on a metal door in a garage with a large window facing due west. The garage really heats up in the summer with all the sun coming in. I'd been dithering for a long time whether to buy this blind and then after we lost some shade trees after a storm, one afternoon's hot sun pouring in and turning the laundry area into a virtual sweatbox was all it took for me to order one of these and put it up as soon as it was delivered. It's great! It took just a few minutes to snap the blind together and position it on the door. It's nice looking and fits the door and window perfectly. The magnets at the top which hold the blind in place are very strong. The bottom magnets keep it from swinging around as the door moves but are not so strong that the blind can't be easily raised. Best of all, the garage is noticeably cooler and more comfortable in the afternoon.

This is a very good product -- just what I wanted to shade the light in a door window that gets too much afternoon sun. On these hot afternoons, it lowers the temperature of the room about 10 degrees. I especially like the fact that not only does the lower edge of the shade have a magnet to keep it attached to the door, but it is a weak magnet so you can easily raise the entire shade when you want to have full light. My only concern about this product is that the tilt mechanism seems a little precarious and sometimes it doesn't tilt as much as I would like. This makes me think that the shade may not last forever, but at its price, it wouldn't kill me to buy another one in a couple of years. It definitely solved my West-facing door problem.

Purchased these mini blinds for two metal doors (kitchen and deck). They were INCREDIBLY easy to install, and love the fact that even though they have 2 magnets to hold the blind in place while extended, it also has the cord to pull them open should I want that. The wand closes them either up or down, whichever gives you more privacy. Bought them to cover doors while I was on vacation so no one could "see in" and they're wonderful! NO TOOLS NEEDED TO INSTALL. Purely magnetic, and the magnets are plenty strong, so even when I'm pulling on the cord to pull the blinds up, they don't move. I'm quite sure they'll be very each to clean too, since it's just magnets holding them on, so take them down and put in the bathtub! The ONLY MINOR negative is that the small plastic ends on the cords need to be double knotted so they don't pull off. Can you tie a knot? That's all that's needed. Fabulous blinds for a really good price.

Picked one of these up for my garage door. Very impressed with it.I had to invert the hold down magnets from what the directions show to give me a bit more length to clear my window frame on the door, but other than that installation was super easy.One tip I have is to lift the magnets off when repositioning, if you slide them across your door they will leave marks. I found this out the hard way.I am taking one star off b/c the blinds I received were deformed along one side, its for a garage so I don't really care enough to return these, but if this was for my house I would have had to exchange them.

I was struggling to find a good quality blind, curtain, shade, cover for a front door with a very large window. After failing to find something suitable locally, I turned to Amazon.com. I was skeptical that the magnets would be strong enough to hold the unit in place, but I am handy with tools so I figured I would "make do" and modify it if I needed to.I was pleasantly surprised to find that not only do the blinds look great and are good quality, but that the magnets work exactly like they are supposed to. It took longer to unwind the drawstring than it did to install them! These blinds are great. Good quality aluminum, strong magnets, and good looks along with an easy install. These also come with a hold-down for the bottom of the blind to keep them in place when the door is opened and closed.
