I have never owned a letter board. I looked at a few different ones online and actually had a different one on my wish list until a friend told me about this one. Since my friend recommended this letter board the purchase was a no brained. I can tell you that it is built well. The dark gray felt is of good quality and the grooves hold the letters in nicely. It came with a sheet of letters, numbers punctuation and emojis, and two sheets of white numbers. Basically it came with everything related that one could feel the need for in terms of letter boards. Obviously it came packaged nicely and everything arrived in one piece :). The frame is a lightly stained natural wood. I'm super happy with this purchase, it exceeded my expectations and I’m certain if you purchase it you will be very pleased with it.

Quality is very poor. The nails were coming out from the stand and wood had several splinters. I guess that’s what a finger nail “like” file was enclosed, but that definitely wasn’t going to fix the problem. Letters needs to be broken off and it’s hard to break. You have to cut it off which leaves a little plastic on the bottom of the letter. Making it standout when placed against the black felt.

I bought it for my 4year old son who is learning to spell. Shipping was fast and packaging was good. It comes with scissors for cutting the letters and a storage bag. I would recommend storing the letters in Ziploc bags and label them like A-F,G-L and so on, its easier for kids to look for the letters this way. Its fun to spell with my son now. Last night we spelled our dinner menu at dinning table. It comes with lots of letters, numbers and emojis and they stick well. My son loves to add an emoji at the end. highly recommend and will buy again.

I just love this letter board. Cheap compare to others but i get the same quality and it looks nice.
