These were purchased to discourage geese from entering my yard but the geese just walked by. Even birds continued to land on my lawn. Pretty ornament but not a deterrent.

And fearless. What chipmunk isn't afraid of an owl?!! Mine, apparently. Or maybe some are, and I just have that one daredevil who thinks the strawberries are JUST THAT GOOD. And worth risking his short little life for. I mean, the strawberries ARE good. And if I were in a strawberry-or-death situation involving a plastic owl, I might consider my chances pretty good. Are they keeping anything away? Who knows. They don't leave me notes saying, "We were GOING to raid your garden, but that owl made me think twice!" I choose to believe that they are working fine. I still have enough strawberries for the humans in the house, so it's all good.

I was not able to thoroughly read through the reviews before ordering this trio of owls but now realize there are many complaints about the heads not turning very well. I agree, the heads do not move or turn as I expected. The windcatcher head fins are inside of the owls accessible through the plugged hole under their base. One of my owls was missing a windcatcher head fin. That was disappointing. My only choice seems to be to return the entire set which is too much trouble for a missing piece. I will craft a replacement fin myself out of something. I inserted the two fins I did receive onto the heads of two of the owls and placed them directly in front of an oscillating tower fan... the heads did not move at all. The movement seems key to making these owls an effective deterrent, so this was disappointing as well. Perhaps they will do better in the wind outdoors. I was also expecting to find ground stakes inside the body of these owls (like come with solar lights) because a reviewer mentioned that. This trio looks like it is sold by more than one seller and that review might be at a different listing. I should have scoured the description better. I guess I disappointed myself on that one lol. I took away a star for the missing head fin. I took away another star for the poor head turning feature. I took away a third star for being disappointed overall at spending $25 for ($8.33 per Owl) for plastic junk.

I purchased these to keep the birds off my tree they have only been up one day so hopefully this works. The owls themselves are great quality and getting a 3 pack I put them in different locations.

Got these to keep the birds off the boat and they work great. The bottoms are a bit loose, so you have to be careful when moving the owls, but as long as you flip them upside down they won’t spill. Definitely have to get the 3 pack to circle the area you’re trying to protect from birds because they are on the smaller side.
