but the steady warmth keeps my toes comfortable but not hot and sweaty
Works exactly as stated. Doesn't feel hot to touch, but the steady warmth keeps my toes comfortable but not hot and sweaty. My feet are always cold to the point of pain, but these insoles really help. Length of time between needing charge varies depending on heat level setting and environment. Most days I set on medium and switch between no heat when comfortable and charge lasts all day. When outside in extreme cold or surfaces like unheated concrete garage floor I use high heat. I can't say how long charge lasts on high, thankfully I haven't needed to spend hours in those extreme conditions to need high setting. Just ordered my second pair after a year. First pair still working, but sometimes I forget to recharge them. Only con for me is minor, would prefer portable charger and newest model has that. Great product!

Worked briefly.
I live in a town where we have 9 months of winter. Most days in the winter months are 20 degrees F/6 Celsius or less. I gave this pair a fair shot. I used them regularly when hiking up in the mountains to lower elevation riding my bicycle or grocery store runs. These theracell are waste of money unfortunately. As you can see both feet have the first stage of hypothermia. Not happy at all :( my boots are rate -35 degrees/-37 C) and they are made in Canada. I’m disappointed.

Works for me
I was apprehensive after reading the very mixed reviews. I'm using them in alpine ski boots and they work well at temperatures down to 5 degrees F. I haven't tested them colder than that (yet). I put them on medium only when my feet get really cold and only until my feet are no longer cold and then turn them off. I haven't run out of battery charge in a 7 hour ski day. The right foot gets warmer than the left and at first I thought the left one wasn't working. It works, it's just not as warm. The buttons on the remote control can sometimes get pushed when in your pocket. This is how I learned that high heat is too warm. Getting the insoles in and out of ski boots is a bit tricky until you learn a technique that works. Pulling them out of very cold ski boots is a real challenge. Let the boots get warm first and it's a bit easier. The added thickness of the insole from the originals in the ski boots actually made the boots fit better, which was unanticipated but welcome. I leave them in the boots even on warmer days for fit and in case it gets colder. If the two warmed to the same temperature and if the remote didn't turn itself on sometimes, this would be 5 stars.

Hit or Miss - we got 2 misses so far...
We live in Vermont and bought a pair of the original Thermacells and a pair of the Proflex Thermacells. We experienced malfunctions in BOTH pair after only a short time. We requested replacements for the Proflex pair because it seemed that only one of the footbeds was getting even remotely warm; we'll be trying those replacement ones shortly. Next, I used the original Thermacells about 3-4 times with good luck, but then the charging head that goes from the charger to the footbed broke off/malfunctioned, so that I can't really recharge them now. I've requested a replacement set from the seller, we'll see what happens.Clearly Thermocell has some quality assurance issues happening, based on our results and reading other review of these units malfunctioning. Why can't anyone make a reliable warming foot product?! For now, they're getting 2 stars since both of our pair have malfunctioned in less than 2 months, but if we find the replacements perform well - at least through this winter - then I'll update the review accordingly. Just a mixed bag at best - but great for winter fat biking and snowshoeing when they do work! The Proflex variety is more flexible and has removable batteries, which is convenient, but I found it easy enough to take the footbeds out (the Original variety) and recharge them as needed. It would be great if there was a feedback mechanism showing us how much juice was left in the batteries, but doesn't exist. I have a pair of Glyde brand battery powered gloves which DO have a battery strength meter. These gloves are AWESOME - expensive, but high quality and worth it so far. I didn't buy them from amazon but rather a friend who's a dealer for them, but they're available online

Just what I was looking for.
If you want your feet to feel like they are in an easybake oven then these are probably not what you want. But if you want to keep your feet from feeling like blocks of ice then they work great. I used them in my uninsulated hunting boots in below freezing temperatures and they kept my feet comfortable for hours. I am looking forward to trying them in some insulated boots.

Work good, but not for very long.
The insoles arrived promptly. They were too thick for my boots even after removing the regular insoles. I had to buy a pair of boots one size larger. The new insoles did not work at all at first. Once I went through the process to sync the remote with the insoles, then they worked. I used them for deer hunting in 20 degree weather. I set them on the lowest heat setting (which they call medium??) and they kept my feet warm for about 3 or 4 hours. After that they were dead. Not real useful for a full day outside. I used them on six different days and tried using intermittently to conserve the battery. This helped a little. Bottom line is that the battery just doesn't last long enough for me. Also, the switch and connection for the charger seem flimsy. I doubt they will last more than a couple of hunting seasons.

Heats the feet
The Thermacell Insole Insoles worked as advertised. The convienience of wearing without wires and no additional batteries made them even more attractive. The only negative was the charge life could be better. Even on low and not turning on until I got into my stand they needed to heat a little longer.

Thermasole heated insole
These were a gift for my husband who loves to go ice fishing and snowmobiling. His feet get cold easily and we had tried so many different things but his feet would still be cold. The first time he used these the weather was very cold and he was going out for a snowmobile ride.He was out for over 3 hours and said his feet were warm the whole time. The sizing was perfect for his shoe size. They are easy to charge and the remote control for the temperature selection gives you a choice of comfort level.I think these will make his outdoor activities much more enjoyable and comfortable.

They work OK in my ski boots - once they are in. However, they are much thicker and quite a bit harder than I had anticipated. So my boots are very tight when I put them in (I did remove the original insoles first). My wife can't use them at all because her boots get too tight when she uses these. They are also very stiff, so I get them only into the boots when the I take the liner out first. That means, before a ski day, take the boot liner out, switch the insoles on, put insoles inside liner, put liner into ski boots. And in the afternoon it's the same in reverse.

Can get a reply from the company after issue with one of my insoles
I loved them for the time I got to use them (like 30-40 days total) but them one of them stopped charging/working. I contacted Thermacell and they directed me to Heat Factory USA, who apparently bought the heat products division of Thermacell. I contacted Heat Factory multiple times (trough the customer service form on their website, tried to email but didn't go through and on their Facebook page) and never got a reply. I would recommend the product but go buy them at a local store, at least there you'll get customer support!

I really wanted these to work but for me they have not. After 60 days of light use they no longer take a charge. Prior to this they did work well and were nice to have as we have had a temperatures of -30c often. Will go back to the reactive toe warmers.
