Warm, durable, comfortable
These are well worth the money. They are quality. They wash up very nicely, don't shrink, and hold up with daily use. I have been using them for months and they look and feel good. They are insanely comfortable, you can feel the difference just putting them on compared to other sock materials. They blow cotton and polyester socks away, I'm never going back to those. If your feet sweat, these are especially worth it. They let your feet breathe. And for winter, they are nice and warm. My home gets quite cold since I'm in the north, and if I'm wearing non-wool socks, I have to wear 2 pairs to keep warm. With these socks I can wear one pair and my feet are warm enough.

Best Socks Ever Made!
These socks are amazing! I have worked in steel toed boots for the last 30 years, and these are the best socks I have ever owned. I originally bought these as work socks. I have worn wool socks before for hiking, so I figured they would be good for work boots as well. They have far exceeded my expectations.I wear these socks daily now because they are so comfortable. They are extremely long wearing as well. I bought my first 8 pairs two years ago now, and I still do not have any holes in them; and they still stay up too! No quitters! A year later, I bought 8 more pairs and you can only see a small difference between the ones that were a year old and the new ones. They take just a tiny bit of extra care: wash with a regular load of clothes as normal, but skip the dryer and hang them up to dry (hang them over a towel bar or something similar, no need for an outside clothes line). These socks keep your feet warm in the winter (even in steel toes) and wick moisture away in the summer, keeping your feet comfortable. If you are wondering whether the price is with it, wonder no more. Get a pair for yourself. Your feet will thank you!The pictures show how the socks were packeged on receipt, and comparison of new socks received, and 1 year old socks.

Well made and comfortable to wear
Well made and comfortable to wear. I was hoping they'd be a little warmer for medium weight socks but honestly I don't have anything to compare them with in that regard. I live in FL and a few nights ago it got down into the 30's. I was outside for 5 hours sitting by a fire wearing Colombia Redmond trail shoes and near the end of the 5 hours my feet were starting to get cold. I wasn't active at all, just getting up occasionally to feed the fire and grab another beer and it's not like Floridians acclimate to the cold very well. lol The only other wool socks I have are lightweight ankle high hiking socks and the Ballston's are definitely thicker and warmer than they are. I haven't washed them yet so if I have any issues I'll update my feedback. Overall, I'm happy with them and I paid almost as much for a single pair of my other wool socks than this 4 pack cost, so that's a great deal. If they hold up, I'll be buying Ballston again.

Good socks
I switched to wearing only wool socks over 20 years ago. Wool is the warmest in the winter and coolest in the summer because the fibers don't get compacted and air can circulate around your foot. Also, they don't hold moisture, so you never get sweaty stink foot, and wool is naturally anti-fungal. I found Ballston socks a few years ago. These are durable socks for a great price. Highly recommended.

Great socks
I purchased these for elk hunting. My feet sweat very badly. Initially the wool smell was very strong, but after about 3-5 washes the smell dissipated. They performed excellently during the hunting season. Now I wear these socks every time I wear boots. They fit great, have really good cushioning, and stay in place. (size 11 shoes with large calves) My feet are much drier than with cotton or Merino acrylic socks I had been wearing. These are well worth the money and I highly recommend!

Great buy, best deal
I am not a paid shill, I bought these on my own. I looked around amazon for hours because my toes are always cold and everyone who says they have wool socks really has 15% wool socks. These socks are 86% wool and they are extremely comfortable. I put them on the second I got them because my toes are virtually always cold, but they immediately warmed up my feet. 4 pairs for 30$ was the best deal for actual wool socks that I could find. They have some nylon in them so they fit pretty snug like normal socks they are just slightly thicker. I'm a size 11 shoe and I got large socks, they fit perfectly.
