I ordered this auto stop start disabler device for my 2023 Chevrolet Equinox. The auto stop start “feature” can be disabled by pressing a button on the interior console, but it’s mildly annoying to have to press the button every time I get into my car.Since this auto stop start disabler didn’t come with instructions, my husband had to find a video online to see how it should be installed. The installation only took about 2 minutes, but, once done, the car hood wouldn’t close. My husband removed the disabler, returned to the original configuration, and the hood still wouldn’t close. I restarted the car, pressed the auto stop button on the dash panel to disable the “feature” manually and was then able to close the hood.It’s possible that the disabler device would have worked if I had thought of pressing the button on the interior before the auto stop start device was removed. We plan on installing the device again in the future to see if the hood will close after pressing the button on the interior. This will also determine whether or not the device actually works. I’ll update this review after the device gets installed again.I’m giving this device 3 stars because I think it will probably work after it gets reinstalled and I disable the auto stop start using the button inside the car to get the hood closed.

The only thing that bothers me is that nowhere can I find any info on how this cable works. I speculate that it might be disabling a sensor somewhere. The cable turns 3 wires into 2 wires. Maybe this is just my paranoia but I want details on exactly how this tricks the car into not shutting off. That said, I installed the cable and it worked as advertised. The button stays lit up unless i turn it off, but either way the engine never stops. The button for stop/start still turns it on and off but the car never turns off at stop ligths. Overall I am very happy with the results.

My mom hates the start stop. She has a 2018 Equinox LT and although she has the start and stop feature, she does not have a button to turn it off each time you start the vehicle. So I can only speak for a 2018 Equinox LT with start and stop with NO OFF BUTTON and this thing worked. I had no check engine light or hood open light and everything works just like before except now my mom's vehicle stays running at red lights and stop signs.
