A well-balanced artbook
Born in Wakayama, Japan, Koji Morimoto graduated from the Osaka School of Design in 1979 and a couple years later joined the studio Annapuru as an animator for the TV series “Tomorrow's Joe”. There he saw some animation by Takashi Nakamura in ‘Gold Lightan’, and was inspired to quit his job and become a freelance animator.Morimoto often collaborated with Nakamura, most notably in Katsuhiro Otomo’s 'The Order to Stop Construction’ segment of the anthology film ‘Neo-Tokyo’. This opened many doors for him, from working as animation director on Otomo’s landmark feature ‘Akira’ and a chance to direct a short for the ‘Robot Carnival’ anthology. His visual style and color language is unique and really withstand the test of time. This Art book, is a beautiful collection of paintings and drawings he's done from various projects and freelance assignments. It's thick, big and well-stocked with art. Almost no text (except for a lengthy interview), just the visuals.Enjoy.

Great purchase
The book I received is second hand but in excellent condition (better than described), and the wait wasn't long. The product itself is a huge, heavy, vibrant art book with amazing work, fold out pieces and some semi-transluscent pages.I am delighted with the purchase and the price.

Awesome book; I'm impressed.
I simply can't see how anyone would give this book a low rating.I bought this book as a drawing reference. Morimoto's style, while simple, not only becomes addicting but makes for some of the best understanding of basic character anatomy I've ever had in practice.I also enjoy how many pages are dedicated to awesomely bizarre buildings and environments. Much of this work reminds me of Tatsuyuki Tanaka.日本語がちょっとだけ分かります。すみません。
