I enjoy the laser engraved globes, and this one is one of the good ones. Very clear.I also like the wooden base and that it does not require batteries. The light from the base highlights the picture inside, and continues through the ball to make an interesting pattern on the ceiling.It can be somewhat mesmerizing.I know I have several friends who think they want one.

This is one of the nicer laser bubble graphic thingies that I've seen. The solar system looks great. The text is only visible from some angles, as it is actually composed of 3D solid letters.The lamp base is simple, with exposed LEDs on a bare board that seems to take 5V from a USB cable. I think the creators should add a diffuser over the LEDs to make the light softer. Right now each LED casts an image on the ceiling through the sphere, which is a little odd.The wood of the base isn't stained, which is actually a good call, as you can customize it to the room pretty easily by painting or staining it to your liking.
