Did it myself, Did not reduce TDS level of water, matter of fact it increased from 170 ppm to 220 ppm. Water taste ok. $449 to just reduce chlorine seems high. I will revisit at a later date, maybe I will feel better about this costly system after time goes by and hopefully my skin will clear up!! will see

Easy, Affordable Filtration for Any Home
This product is fantastic! The reviews that say it leaks and cannot be fixed either received a bad product or they screwed something up during installation. I haven't had a drop of water leak from anywhere on the system. Almost no drop in pressure. It's been going strong for almost 4 months. Will update the review once I get close to replacing the filter elements.

Horrible Product+ Leaked big time+ Sent it back to Amazon for a refund.
A horrid experience, Returned the product. PLEASE DON’T BUY IT unless you read my Review.I wish I could post pictures here on Amazon to give the readers of this review some evidence. After watching the documentary “Last Stop at the Oasis” I was fully motivated to but a whole house filtration system, researched Lifesource, Pelican, Whirlpool, and Quadmaxx seemed to be a very good option for $500, with good claims about the water purification results etc.Anyway the video on the Hydrocare website shows that this is one of the easiest products to install purely depending on the fact that you have a main water line running conveniently through the middle of the wall, but believe me after we cut the dry wall it was point of no return. The plumbing which we had to re-jig resembled a nuclear power station but there is no blame on Quadmaxx or Hydrocare for it, I am just stating that plumbing in a home is not as easy as it seems. After the plumbing was done we installed the Quadmax canisters and switched on the main water line and we found out that two of the canisters were leaking at the plastic elbow joints, the plumber removed the same and tightened them and they continued to leak. Then we removed the canisters and tightened all of the canisters and installed the faulty canisters back and to our surprise the canisters started leaking at the main joints. It was already 9:00PM and the plumber went home stating that he would come back tomorrow. All this time I had a leaking canister and I tried to work around the same and then I noticed that the shark bite clamp was broken which would leak water like crazy which it did. It was 9:30PM and I virtually flew down to Lowes and fortunately found a ½ inch copper stopper to be put in place of the fault canisters.Anyway nett nett, the product needs to go through some field trails and I would have never been comfortable with a system which has 4 failure points (the 4 canisters of the Quadmaxx system).Hydrocare might be a good company but the experience with Quadmaxx was horrible.By the way folks I was using a licensed, experience plumber for this installation and spent about $40 per hour for his services which lasted more than 7 hours.

and now need to add another $100 with shipping twice a year indefinitely as this is the recommended replacement schedule
I have had the system now for about 4 years. As others have said, it is a very costly system for essentially the removal of chlorine from your water. The positives - it does work and there is a noticeable difference in the water quality. We still use a separate Brita water system for drinking water. When taking a shower before, our skin would itch and become dry. That has gone away. There is no noticeable chlorine smell in the water. The negatives - it is a costly system, and finding the replacement filters that you need to replace every 6-9 months has become nearly impossible, and now need to add another $100 with shipping twice a year indefinitely as this is the recommended replacement schedule. Replacing the filters is also not a 1-2-3 task. It is a process, and you need to give it about 30 minutes or so for this job as small alignments in each of the 4 units need to occur to prevent dripping.

Took the chlorine smell and taste out of our water.Exceeded our expectations. Easy install!I will update this after a month or two of use.I installed it myself. (See picture)Used my finger to apply the grease around the copper and the inside of the white plastic tubes.Shoved them on, turned the supply back on, closed the faucets.I ran about 5 gallons down into a tub and it cleared out the gray cloud.Done.

I purchased a HydroCare HC-QM Quadmaxx City Water about a year ago .I installed it . I could still smell and taste chlorine. I called them and they sent mea new set of filters . Said they had a problem with a batch of filters That didn't help .So now I have to install a RO system to get rid of the chlorine . The HrydoCare does catch a lot of impurities . But their claimthat it removes chlorine is not true.

Vustomer for Life!!!
I admit I was skeptical but needed to do something to improve the water. I live in an area of the USA that has one of the worst hard water issues but a water softener was out of the question due to the environmental pollution of the salt required. My decision to try our the HydroCare Quadmaxx was a terrific decision. At first I did not notice any changes until I realized that my hair was shiny and silky with out any conditioners. The water felt soft without the slimy feel from a water softener. Plus our coffee and tea taste better. Thank you for this product. Your customer for life.
