This UV blocking umbrella is perfect for anyone needing something lightweight for travel. Its a more compact size so it fits in the pocket of my travel bag and doesn't add a lot of weight. I don't know how it will work for rain but my need is for it to block UV light which is essential due to my medical condition. I hope that the company claims about UFF 50 are correct. It does block regular light so I am encouraged by that. Its not super large but large enough for one person. The open and close mechanism works fine but its difficult to put back in the storage sleeve. The umbrella has a minimal plastic odor that will likely disappear over time. Its not super fancy or super tough construction but it works.

A very good travel umbrella! It's a lightweight umbrella (As described), and definitely blocks both sun and rain. Since its lightweight, its not going to be nearly as sturdy in the wind and rain, so I would NOT use it in strong conditions. A larger, chunkier umbrella will be needed in torrential rain or wind. That being said, under "normal circumstances" (sunny days with low/no wind, or light-medium rain with no wind), this umbrella gets the job done while taking up very little space in a bag. It's so small, i can fit this comfortably in my sling bag when I think the weather is going to turn that day. I use it regularly, and as long as you treat it delicately in the elements, it should last a while.

Works as it says just keep in mind it is pretty small but I love how light it is. Keep it on hand in my bag for if I need some sun or rain protection.

I used this as a sun umbrella in Italy walking around in 100° weather in the full sun. This silver reflective SPF umbrella kept me cool . The automatic open /close worked very well and the umbrella seems sturdy. But it is also quite lightweight and easy to carry around. I’m going to buy another. Only slight downside is that it’s a little long.

I have dozens (literally dozens) of umbrellas, but this one is not only very light weight and small enough to fit in a smallish sized purse/handbag, it is also very functional. The auto-open and close feature works well, and the handle is not too small/uncomfortable to hold - even in a strong breeze. I walked all over London with this and it's big enough for two people (walking closely together) to keep from getting soaked. I haven't used it in a strong wind, so cannot say if it will hold its shape or turn inside out, but for the money this was a good buy!

This thing is tiny! But it does open up quickly. Good to store in the car. Just wish it was bigger.

This was a last minute purchase I made before taking a trip to Asia, where rain (and intermittent strong sun) were expected. It turned out to be an excellent decision. The button for automatic opening works flawlessly. The only time it wouldn't open was when I accidentally failed to fully retract it when closing it. You must fully pull it down so that it clicks, so you know it's fully closed. And then the automatic button will open it in an instant.On hot sunny days, I've used this umbrella as well, keeping the sun and heat off of my skin, enabling me to avoid using as much sunscreen as I usually do.All in all, a great purchase! I haven't had any strong winds to contend with, so cannot comment on that. But for normal rain and drizzle, this has been a great purchase for me. Easy to carry in my purse, it gets the job done!

Umbrella was used twice for sun protection and now no longer opens. The pole extends, but the umbrella doesn't open. If you manually open it, it shuts itself.
